Unreal Estate Game: New York State
We're talking about the part of New York state that's not the big city. Your five houses follow:

My rankings:
Syracuse - I'm picking this one mostly because of the house. It's really got a lot of style and detail, and that bathroom sink is pretty amazing. The neighborhood is not very scenic, but it's convenient, and ... that house ... wow. Big fan. Newburgh - The house is certainly nice, if not exactly my style. But I really like the location. You can walk to the downtown area, it's near the river, and while there's not anything close in terms of parks, there are some big areas that you could drive to. Melville - What an interesting location. It's on a nice wooded lane on Long Island, but is frighteningly close to the Long Island Expressway. There's a nice big park not too far away for running around, though, and the location isn't great but not horrible in terms of services. The house is nice but kind of dated. Albany - Nice classic house in a reasonably walkable location. It doesn't wow me, but it's definitely livable. I also didn't know that houses in upstate New York had pools. No parks nearby at all. Liberty - I really like the house. Check out the cool chandelier in Photo 16, and I like the stonework. It's got nice views, though you're going to be driving to get anywhere. It's a little more remote than I'd prefer.

Some impressive homes for that price. Newburgh, then Syracuse.

I think I prefer the motif of Melville the most but that house is significantly smaller than the others and lacking a large estate.
Albany hits most of my criteria. |

Would not want to live in NY. You have to pay a toll fee just to run to the store. |

How in the hell are these houses under $1 million? Is it built over a mine, haunted, history of murder? And that bathroom sink would do nothing but piss me off because every time I wash my face I'd have to do a towel clean up all over.I tried to convince my wife to install a troff for a bathroom sink but something about it being an eyesore. I stopped listening after "no".
