The KC media are afraid of the Chiefs PR Machine because the Chiefs are vindictive. If you criticize them, make them look bad, ask embarrassing questions, they limit your access. KK and WHB lightened up when they landed the "Official" post game show. Now Mitch the Mouthpiece comes on KKs show once a week and spews the company line. 610 hammers the Chiefs because they have nothing to lose. If they win better access, they'll lighten up. Dawson is an employee of the Chiefs. He's going to go easy on them. Channel 5 goes easy on them because CBS carries all the AFC games. Jack Harry hammers on them because he's old and doesn't give a **** anymore.

Remember when Pioli got hired? He said the head coach would do all the media stuff. Haley HATED doing media. He wasn't very good at it. Romeo is worse. Romeo comes off like Grandpa Simpson in press conferences. So now Pioli is having to show up in the middle of a 1-7 nightmare season, and "do interviews" to spin the party line. It's a PR nightmare for the Chiefs spin doctors.

But you know what? The Chiefs will still make millions and millions of dollars this year. CHunt just watches his bank balance. As long as he has a beauty queen in his bed and nine zeros in his bank account, he's really not all that worried about how his team is doing.

Besides, he has the MLS to take his mind off it. Football is for gearheads, beer guzzlers, rednecks and hillbillies. Soccer is an international sport for cultured people. And it's all about entertainment. Entertainment can be comedy or tragedy. As long as it's extreme, it's entertaining. Why do you think soap operas have been on TV for 50 years?

Either that or he's not commenting AT ALL on whether or not he has confidence in Romeo, the HEAD COACH.

I mean, I'm sure he's still supremely confident that Romeo will stick his tail between his legs and do whatever Pioli tells him to do.
Backing RAC because no RAC = no Pioli.

Even Hunt wouldn't let someone hire yet another HC in such a short time frame.

There isn't anything in this interview I need to hear.

I have all the evidence necessary to make a decision.

Given 4 years to run this team he's run it not only in to the ****ing ground but made us the absolute, beyond a doubt, least competitive team in the league...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

I think that interview was hard to judge with just 4 or 5 questions split into 2 segments. What still bothers me is that the rest of the interview won't be shown until next week. Lenny is the one guy in KC that can get away with a little more candor and not be shut out. Asshats like KK and the like are just that, asshats that can be replaced (except if you own a piece of the station).
One interesting thing for those that couldn't see KMBC was the piece on Sporting KC that preceded the first segment. The people interviewed all raved about the ownership and experience of Sporting KC games. A little dig, perhaps?
To the comment about Channel 5, I'm sure they're not too worried. They are the CBS affiliate and will continue to carry Chiefs games on CBS because it's a league rule. In fact, they buy a whole lot of tickets to make sure home games aren't blacked out.

No lie, i'm gonna PUKE if i hear "we're gonna work hard" again, that cheap slogan is sooo ****ing empty at this point.

It doesnt matter how hard they're working, if what they're working on is all dicked up... "if we work hard enough on the long bomb to mccluster, maybe it'll work".

Isn't it depressing that other franchise figureheads that are still involved with their team are from like the 80's and 90's... and we are still running around talking about Len Dawson.

You're right. This entire thing is depressing, Mr. Molitoth.

It's one excuse (or blatant lie) after another from this franchise. Pioli's statement that he has confidence in Roleo makes him the only man in the NFL who would even think about turning their team over to Head Coach Crennel ... the only one ... unique in the sport ... unaccompanied ... solo ... there is no other. Crennel couldn't keep a job in Cleveland, for crying out loud.

Either Pioli is truly insane or he must think of us as morons ... or both. Those are the only possible explanations.

My final and only hope is that Clark is not a pussy and truly cares about this franchise. I pray that my expectations in that area are not exaggerated.

Bart Starr still does for the Packers what Len Dawson does for us.

Then again, the Packers were just as if not MORE pathetic during the Chiefs in the 70s and 80s

It wasn't easy, I can tell you that.

I turned it off the first time ... after about 30 seconds or so. Eventually, I was able to gut my way through it. He makes my skin crawl ... literally.
