He'll take as many touches from Jammal as Dexter McCluster did last season.

ESPN's Rich Cimini said Thomas is similar to Darren Sproles with his speed and build, and could help out the New York Jets. Here's a taste of what Cimini wrote.

It's no secret the Jets would like to add a big-play dimension on offense. One of the most intriguing weapons in the draft is Oregon running back De'Anthony Thomas, a Darren Sproles-like talent. Even though his production dipped in 2012 and 2013, he still finished his career with an average of 7.8 yards per rush, including 5.4 yards before initial contact.

Iconic, knowing the players available when we picked up Thomas, who would you have taken instead?

I stay completely out of all these threads...but I LOVE THIS PICK.

I've watched this kid play quite a bit. Imo, he's a version of Percy Harvin, sneaky fast.

He was used as a WR so Reid should love the possibilities.

He was the only player I really wanted to see in red and white but wasn't about to mention it on here. I don't care now, I'm thoroughly excited about this pick.

Why would it limit touches for Jamaal? Just give Thomas a few more touches than McCluster got last year and you can get great production. And Jamaal doesn't need 330 touches every year.

So if he gives you 600-700 yards receiving, 700-800 yards from scrimmage, 600 yards in returns and 5-7 touchdowns you'll be upset?

The odds of him doing any of that is very unlikely. Look, I have no ill will toward Thomas. I think he's a great pickup for whomever... It's just that their were better options out there that would have filled immediate needs.
