-- Odd/Mysterious sites on the web - watch at your own risk.

Okay - I'm not really big on hype - but I watched this in its entirety and it gave me nightmares for two nights. Not a big deal, yet it really is strange.

Any of you run into any odd sites? I don't mean the deep web - I just mean random odd sites that you may've heard of or run into.

Watch this at your own risk - it really is somewhat disturbing - but it also TOO is very interesting!

The link from Motherboard tells all about it. You/They'd/He'd be a fool to simply go there 'wide open' - Don't go there even out of curiosity - It's very dangerous to even BE there.

That motherboard video shows a fundamental misunderstanding of what the 'deep web' is and how it works. The vast majority of it is non-illegal stuff.

It just happens to be the ONLY place to find the illegal stuff. And if your looking for it, you can certainly find it.

Hell I buy my illegal asthma inhalers off of the 'light web?' all the time. I need to order some more actually this weekend :P

And no, I dont really know the sites or how to find out the URLs etc, (there are index sites) but I have learned and seen tons about it over the years.

i believe so, but you would never want to do that without having your ip address secure as you could be traced and the gov't most def. looks at that.

As they talk about in the motherboard video, what you are doing there is practicing self-censorship becuase you know that they know, or even THINK they might know.

Thats anti-freedom 101.

Its also the reality that we live in. Kinda ****ed up.

That's what Tor is for. As explained in the Motherboard video.

The thing that really bugged me out - is the when they talked about the "two boys, one hammer" page/link on that video by Motherboard. I really was disturbed by that - then when you see all the amber alerts - you can't help but think often that's probably what happens to missing children, for this secret (sick as ****) society/underworld - that's why I'd indicated it was so disturbing. Really is a sad pathetic, dark world, in many ways.

But given that you're the one starting out and they're the ones running hidden services, they kind of have you at a disadvantage if you screw up. Fortunately, the tales of people having their lives ruined by browsing the wrong sites and being hunted by mafiosi bent on silencing them for having witnessed a mob hit inexplicably streamed online are massively overblown. At most, you might find yourself mercilessly trolled, get pizzas ordered to your door, or if you're particularly unfortunate, get Swatted
even thought this guy says those sayings are over blown.. it just makes me think.. you CAN find yourself watching a mafia hit, or paid hitman, or murder, child porn, open yourself up to being tracked by bad bad people.
