No Man's Sky

Been hyper-psyched for this one for a while. First game I've preordered since Destiny, comes out in June on PC and PS4. IGN's featuring it this month.

I don't mean to hijack the TS but what are you playing now? I'll be buying Dayz and H1z1 when the pc arrives.

Man this game is a grind. There's absolutely no shortcuts and you can't steal things. If you even get too greedy gathering resources, the game tries to slow you down by sending Sentinels or pirates. Inventory juggling is super frustrating. And movement is so painfully sloooooow.......

But I keep playing for some reason..

OMG I REPEAT DO NOT! DO NOT BUY EITHER GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

H1z1 - while fun has been split into two games. One is based off the popular King of the Hill game mode other is regular.

DayZ - It is not worth buying!!!!

Here is what I do suggest if you enjoy the concepts of both of those games. (Building persistant base, killing people, having AI missions, trade systems ect..)

Arma 3
- Then DOWNLOAD free DayZ MOD. (Arma 3 launcher)
SO SO SO MUCH BETTER

I cant figure out what the point of the game will be after I've upgraded all inventories...to take pictures of new animals and plants? I knew the game wouldn't be great, but I impulse bought it anyway. Regretting it now.

Yeah, the quintillion planets aspect quickly loses its luster when you realize you're just doing the same simplistic thing a quintillion times. It's like having a quintillion circus peanuts. Quantity ≠ quality.

First of all, I have have some of the best gaming experiences EVER playing DayZ. As for no mans sky, I feel a bit of the staleness, but I just love the thought of traveling through space and the upgrade loot cycle, that I keep playing it.

This game is fine for free. I game share with a friend. I wouldn't buy this for $60.

not to hijack this thread too badly, but someone mentioned they wanted to play this game if it was around 10 bucks. Well, this other game is around 10 bucks on steam right now, Empyrion - Galactic Survival. It's still in early access, but there seems like more to do than No Man's Sky already. And it has a multiplayer. I just started playing the single Player. Obviously still on the first planet. Here is a couple videos of the Multiplayer. The third video is older, but I think it is single player and he is further along with better stuff. The guy has a whole series if you want to see more.

Rebel Galaxy is free on PSN this month and I like it a lot. You pilot a spaceship and run missions around space. You can upgrade your ship and buy new ships that have different capabilities.
