There is zero chance of this being as good as the book, but I'll still give it a shot.

Damon's space suit looks like the one he wore in Interstellar.

I read it before the movie talk started and while reading thought this could make a solid movie. Obviously the details will be lost but at least its in the hands of an often great director and a pretty nice cast.

Heh, I read this as "The Martin trailer".
I was excited for a few seconds before the disappointment set in.

It almost can't be, just based on how the book was written. The inner monologue of the protagonist and his wit and humor would work much better on the page than on the screen I'd think. I'm excited they're giving it a shot, I'll certainly go see it.

I just finished the book. Took me a day and a half. I couldnt put it down and it has been forever since I had a book like that. I cannot wait for this movie.
I am not sold on Matt Damon as Mark. In the book, he was incredibly funny and charismatic. Honestly, after Ant Man, Paul Rudd would have worked for this role better. The rest of the cast is almost perfect. Especially Michael Pena as Martinez. Kristin Wiig and Donald Glover... meh we will see.
