Missouri Valley Conference Basketball - Missouri St. making a nice run.

In before "who gives a shit"

As a fair weather Bears fan it was pretty fun flipping through the channels a while ago and seeing their huge win at UNI. What a clutch shots. With another win at the Shockers house and a big game with Indiana St. coming up...they are 6-0 in the conference. Could this be the year the bears get in the tourney?

(14-3, 6-0 MVC)

Yea the Shocks got UNLV, Tulsa, Utah St. all at home, and then we got VCU on the road, along with playing in the Puerto Rican Shootout which includes team such as Alabama, Colorado, Iona, Maryland, Purdue and Temple. I like to see us add a couple other decent teams to the schedule. But i think the whole valley needs to all do their part.

Awesome news. After Lil Mac backed out on UNI to follow daddy to Creighton, I've wished them nothing but the worst.

Young. I expect a lot of up and downs. Middle to lower part of the conference. There are some pieces that could be really special in a year or two.

Really, really young team. Not playing on Thursday in the MVC tournament would be the ultimate goal this year.

Joe Poznanski article on Jackie Stiles. She has cancer. My mom had season tickets to the lady bears games. Jackie was always her favorite player.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Yes, every now and again, the all-time leading scorer in NCAA Division I women’s basketball goes to the gym by herself. There, Jackie Stiles shoots baskets. She loves doing this; she has always loved shooting baskets alone.

No one is ever allowed to watch her shoot these days, not even the players on her basketball team.

“I can’t stand not being what I used to be,” she says, and, oddly, she smiles.
