Midway through the season, who's your MVP?

As far as PLAYERS are concerned.

There are some very clear favorites but I figured I'd see what the Planet thought.

I like the fact that this team isn't purely driven by one player.

I'd probably go with Charles just because he's been superb in every phase of every game this year other than the one injury. I'm amazed at how well he catches and blocks. He's the ultimate player.

Smith came close to my vote, and a good argument can be made for Houston, too.

I'm guessing that Zach Fulton is our rookie of the year. The guy walked in, became a starter immediately, and has played well.

Cases could be made for other players though.
Actually, a surprisingly strong case could be made for Davis, now that you've laid it out.

Hm.

Probably true.

So that begs the question that we always seem to ask -- what does MVP mean?

The most indispensable player? The player who's played the best? The player who's been most instrumental in our wins?

Because the answer to those three questions, on this team, are all different players. (Smith, Poe, and Charles, respectively.)

Of the choices Alex Smith. But really its the offensive line. On paper it should be terrible but they are creating holes to run and giving Alex enough time. I honestly thought Smith would be in traction by now. John Dorcey really deserves recognition for this and Andy and crew getting them up to speed has been amazing.

I love the way Ron Parker is playing. But Berry was very good at covering last year as I recall.

The MVP this year is..........

wait for it.........

Wow.... I chose Alex Smith. He is the most VALUABLE player on this team right now.

Charles has had some underwhelming games this first half, and some of his value is negated by how good Knile Davis value is becoming.

Justin Houston has been working it, but if you take him off the roster I don't just see the Chiefs all of a sudden getting their asses kicked. You remove Alex Smith and his stability? Chiefs could be done. Or they could have a new QBotF just waiting to bust out...

But yeah, to this point it has been Alex Checkdown Smith.
Pretty sad to say. We need an overhaul at the WR position.

are you ****ing kidding me? Alex Smith has been running for his life all season long. Take away the shiftiness of our RB's and these guys have nothing.

This line sucks.

Justin Houston has gotten a sack in every game this year except 1.

Alex Smith survives by throwing swing passes, screens, and 5 yard slants.

No ****ing way is Alex the MVP of this team while leading one of the worst passing offenses in the league.

Its a good problem when you actually have to think about who the MVP is.
I made the mistake of watching a couple of videos just now.
The so called experts pointing out how valuable Justin Houston has been game in and game out...
and well they're right.
The only pause I have is the whole exactly what is an MVP subject.
Which player if removed would be the hardest to get by without.
That would be Alex Smith.
Smith does a lot more than hand off to our RB's no matter how some want to preach that.
And at the same time I do Not think hes a so called Elite QB.
Top 15..yes.

At any rate I voted for Justin Houston
Smith and Knile honorary mention.
Knile may have saved our season when JC was out.
He helped the team continue as planned instead of WTF do we do now.
And I'm willing to bet each game going forward there will be a KNILE DAVIS!!.. moment.
