Rams to release Foles

Rams expecting to release QB Nick Foles, sources say. Trade never materialized. Release will make him a free agent. Not subject to waivers.

I have 0 problem with LA and their fans. I hold no ill will towards them. If I lived in LA, I'd be ecstatic.

I have a problem with Kroenke, Demoff, and how they pretty much took a big shat on the city and the fan base.. I also have an issue with the politicians who negotiated that lease with the Rams in the 1st place.

Georgia did the same to LA, I know.

It sucks being from St. Louis and having followed the team and gone to games when they were shit. I distinctly remember going to games in 2007, 2009, and 2011.

This is exactly right.

I read a lot of comments about the Jets standing firm and Fitz finally having to give in, but that's a misrepresentation. All of the rumors around the Jets (on NYC sports talk) were that Fitz was fine with 1 year for $12M, but the Jets wanted the assurance that he would be there beyond this year. Their pitch to him was $12m for this year, then $6M for next with $3M guaranteed, and a third year between $3-6M.

I don't blame him for only wanting to commit 1 year to the Jets. So in the end, Fitz got exactly what he wanted (outside of a Brock deal) and the Jets had to concede.

There are like 6 Ram fans in STL anyway.

Your boy Elway might want to take a look. Foles had no support around him especially O line protection. He is a decent QB IMHO.

Man, I watched that game.. he looked awesome in that game. Holy shit. This guy is able to function/perform very well in the NFL...He looked fantastic that entire season. I was expecting him to be really up and coming, but then he just has sucked the past couple years. He is a very system-specific QB, IMO.

If the Chiefs signed Foles as backup (hell, he was drafted by the Eagles when Reid was HC for them...not like it's totally impossible), I wouldn't be heart-broken. I would be very intrigued, wondering if he can break the TD's record again with the Chiefs. I think Foles is underrated...

I agree. If he's willing to take the minimum to rebuild his confidence in system that would cater to his talents like Andy's, I would have zero problem switching Bray's contract and space out for Foles.

With Bray, we don't really know what his ceiling is, but with him being an UDFA, it's probably not that high. With Foles, you know his ceiling is a very solid starting NFL QB. I'd pull the trigger if Foles is capable of putting his pride aside for a few seasons and hit the bench.

because anyone with half a brain could see the Chiefs were a better team last year. 11 wins by 7 or less won't ever haooen again with out the calls Manning gets.

The sites I have read regarding Foles as number 2 somewhere generally have the Chiefs as the #2-3 best fit. Pretty much everyone seems to think Dallas is the most interested and best fit.
