Madden 16

Has anybody picked this up already and had a chance to play it yet.

How is it ? Is it any better than last years ? pros and cons. How good are the chiefs on it.

There's a few terrible glitches in the game. But the core of the gameplay is pretty good. Madden gameplay hasn't typically been a huge problem to me. It's always been the lack of additions to franchise mode, and presentation. The gameplay this year is ok. I do get tired of seeing every 6'5 WR coming down with the ball when all the QB did was throw it up in the air.

From what I have seen & read, most of the glitches are in offline/franchise modes. I haven't seen any glitches online in ranked play yet. As far as the whole tall receiver/TE aggressive catching, you have to scheme around that player, just like you would IRL. You leave a good receiver 1v1 without help, your gonna give up big plays unless your DB's are good. I usually user the FS (Parker) and try to help out wherever their 'big' WR or TE is. If they are wide on Smith's side, I don't worry so much because he has not been Moss'd yet online. Smith and Peters both have like a 90 in press coverage, so its a no brainer to press & play cover 1 man with Tamba & Justin coming so they cant roll out.

I dont and i doubt ill ever buy another Madden game ever. For me, i have come to the realization that NFL video game football doesnt exist for me. I dont even really sports game at all and thats all i used to do. I play the show once in a while. It just doesnt hook me though. Im thinking of picking up a soccer game though. Always loved soccer games, but i dont just buy 60 dollar games like i used too. Steam summer and winter sales changed purchasing game for me. lol

Cool, I love playing around with the roster. I use Dee Ford opposite Houston and stick Tamba on the inside with DJ.

The Chiefs should do this IRL as Mauga should never see the field

Not gonna happen man. It all comes down to this..

When EA got he exclusive license, Madden was still kicking ass and putting forth serious effort. After scoring the deal, they still introduced some upgrades that were already in the works and next gen consoles, (PS3 and the 360) were coming out.
There was a pretty damn nice graphics upgrade with that and people got hooked.
Now it's the only option and the gamers haven't adjusted their views, they've decided as a whole that this shit is ok.
A big reason for that, (IMHO) is that a huge chunk of madden players aren't 'gamers.' They don't play hundreds of different titles and they pretty much stick to sports games like Madden or the other shitty yearly release, COD.
EA realizes this and they keep cranking out the same shit.

Game reviews don't matter to that consumer, they don't give a shit as long as their rosters are updated every year and one or two new mechanics are introduced.

**** Madden, **** EA and **** Call of ****ing Duty right in the ass.

This sounds like a fair assessment. Back when I used to game, I pretty much stuck to those two due to replay value. They'd last me all year.

Can't say that I do. The latest games I own are Madden 25 (2014) and Black Ops II.

My Xbox Live subscription has lapsed and I have never been a big offline gamer on the newer generation consoles.

yeah, I have gotten kinda burned out with the lack of new titles, but with the new stuff coming out, ill be back in full force closer to the fall/winter.

Black ops 3
Halo 5,
Forza 6,

But I hear ya. I still am having problems finding anything that was as addicting to me as Kingdoms of Amalur.

Playing madden like that with 7 minute quarters just broke the will of my cousin. We'd both take over a team and play 4 or 5 hours a night after work. I'd pound the ball, milk the clock, and frustrate the $3it out of him.

Playing that way is no longer an option in Madden...

I used to play that way as recently as Madden 25. You just have to know what you're doing.

Yeah, it's just feels really different from Madden 15 for some reason. I'm better at 16 than I was at 15 now.
