about the only thing I can even fathom is a firmware update between the 2 plays, but that usually fixes things not break them.

Have you tried gently washing and drying the DVD with soap and water? How about removing and reattaching the HDMI cable on both the DVD player and TV?
Also, maybe the DVD player has a spec of microdust on the optics. Try shooting three or four short bursts of compressed air in the player with the DVD tray open. That's worked for me in the past. Good luck! |
