Score one more for SOC...

Soren Petro just said firing Romeo is irrelevant. There's no reason to do it.

"The signs don't say 'Fire RAC', they say 'Fire Pioli'."

The difference is that there are viable candidates to talk to right now, and this is what Clark should be doing. Target #1 should be--get ready with the pitchforks--Bill Cowher. Why? This franchise needs to be legitimized, and The Chin does this immediately.

Get Cowher in the wings. Work with him to find an appropriate match for GM and college scouting, and then focus in on trying to identify the franchise's next QB, which is the foundation.

In terms of PR, which is turning the situation in KC highly toxic, Pioli cannot be allowed to finish the season. He's made the situation completely untenable, and this might have more far-reaching effects than simply pissing off the fans.

Clark can talk to Cowher RIGHT NOW, without touching Pioli. Cowher isn't employed by another team.

So we're right back to the only reason being to appease the fans.

As much as the fans deserve to be appeased, there's no reason to be imprudent.

I am not understanding your point. The Panthers fired their GM several weeks ago there is no reason why Clark couldn't do that today.

After the season he will have to hire a new GM who will decide who stays and who goes.

Yes. If Clark would fire Pioli now and hold a press conference, acknowledging the failings of the front office and therefore reasonable frustrations of the fans, while proclaiming that this will be solved and the organization will get healthy, fans would react very positively.

We all know the rest of the season is going to be a dumpster fire, but Pioli's blood would temporarily quell the need for someone's ass.

I'm not sure how much more definitive you could be. Its why they refused to touch or hold a sign like it was a heavy plutonium isotope when I tried to hand one to them.

I honestly don't believe it would be imprudent. Not be a long shot. Clark simply cannot allow Pioli to continue to play mini-Hitler, while the Allied planes and ground troops carpet bomb Arrowhead with literal and metaphoric candy wrappers.

This situation is poised to go from toxic to explosive, and thus our beloved SMU dork has to get out in front of this thing.

From the other perspective, there is absolutely nothing gained by allowing Pioli to continue his fail campaign. He must go, and he must go now.

I could 100% see Cowher as the hiring. Hunt is going to want a HC that has pull and can put the fans back in their seats. Hiring an unknown out of the college ranks or an up and coming coordinator isn't going to do that.

Petro was just talking about Cowher and the people that he knows that are close to Cowher are saying he isn't going anywhere that doesn't have a top level QB.

So that rules out KC.

The power dynamic in Charlotte is much different than here. If you fire Pioli, everybody has to go with him. The whole franchise revolves around him. That wasn't the case in Carolina.

It really is a Nazi regime. Not only do you have the Golf Cart Gestapo giving you the yellow star treatment, you have Roleo performing a perfect Sgt. Schultz at every press conference with his "I know nothing" routine. Plus, there's a new, ginger, viking Joseph Goebbels in town to tell us how great we are.

I eagerly await the final solution in which Pioli decides to round up the fans and put them on a train to Omaha.

It might not be Cowher, but it's not going to be a gamble on a college coach or coordinator. This franchise must be rescued from the punchlines of late night comedians, and it's going to take a proven commodity to do this.

And this is exactly what Clark is going to have to pay handsomely to secure.

The rest of this season is going to be nothing but failure. You don't want to saddle your new GM with that stink.

The history of the NFL is littered with guys that failed because they inherited a bad situation.

The new guy needs to be able to make a clean break, in January.

Think with your head, not your heart.

On top of being an incompetent GM, Pioli truly seems like he is seriously mentally ill. He'll never work in this league again other than picking up the Krafts' dry cleaning.

This is where it's really ****ed up.

There are no checks and balances so to say for the guy. He was given ultimate power over the franchise, really, without proving he deserved it. Now it's getting really bad at 1 Arrowhead, because it's full of yes men.
