Docking Stations - USB 3.0 vs USB type C

So since Dell Support sucks, maybe I can get some help from CP.

Apparently things have changed since I last bought a computer. I've always ran Dell Lattitude laptops so I can use their EPort replicators and have essentially a desktop at the house and the farm as well as a laptop.

It was time for an upgrade so I bought a Dell Lattitude 7370. But they don't have EPort replicators anymore. So I hopped on Dell Support and tell them I currently have an EPort replicator with 2 monitors that are connected through DVI and asked what I needed to do go get a docking station to work with all that.

What they sent me was a Dell Dock WD 15. Then he sold me an DVI to HDMI adapter for one and then some cockamamie DVI to some other bullshit that isn't on the WD 15. I emailed the one who sucks the penis that sold it to me back, but he won't email me back, so I've tried to do some research on docking stations. It appears that my computer has a USB 3.0 and there are some USB 3.0 adapters out there.

Since I know ****all about USB 3.0 or USB type C, I have no idea what capacity those types of Docking stations will have. Reading about the USB type C they are supposedly SUPER FAST and blah blah blah, but that's about like taking a salesman's word on something. If USB 3.0 will work well enough, maybe that's the way to go. There seem to be more options to get display out.

Plus, I have a Surface Tablet with a USB 3.0 port that I could use on a USB 3.0 docking station as well. If the performance won't be as good, I need to find a solution for the USB type C, especially at the farm.

I'd appreciate any help because I apparently can't get anything out of Dell
