It's interesting to read his account. He said a little while back that physically he felt fine but he already has short term memory problems. He has also talked about the fact that they practiced so hard, so much, full contact when he was playing for the Chiefs that he took a huge amount of punishment that no modern player would take and that it shortened his career.

He clearly has an axe to grind with the Chiefs management of that time, he claims they prevented him from getting the team rushing records because they didn't like him and some other stuff, but he still seems to be a Chiefs fan. Very complex character

I don't know much about that side of the world but he seems to be involved in Israel of God or some other sort of liberation theology teaching. Sort of like Obama's church in Chicago that got a lot of attention back in the day, it's around in pretty much any major city with an african-american population. Not really that uncommon or out there among that community I don't think, but hard for outsiders to understand.

He's also said he understands why they kept him from getting the records because of how he had behaved. With his mood shifts he might not always be so gracious, but that's what he said at one time. Still seems pissed off at how he was run into the ground and he has a right to be.

Yeah, thanks for pointing that out, I should have mentioned that sometimes he's really up in arms about something but when he chills out he's a lot more gracious about it. His tweets are how he's feeling at that moment and no more. He's real on social media in a way that most people aren't.

I grew to dislike him when he was here as most people did, but this is a good illustration of how you don't really know a guy, as a fan. Or maybe how much he's changed after his career ended, who knows.

"They" didn't let him break the rushing record because of his behavior, specifically, him going on a Twitter rant and using a terrible gay slur in reference to the HC of the team.

In between that and repeatedly getting in trouble for beating up barflies, the Chiefs brass had had enough of him humiliating the team in a very public manner, and cut his ass when he was 75 years short of the team record.

So the reason he didn't break the all-time Chiefs record was a combination of his own behavior and the fact that he sucked from 2007-on.

Well, it has been almost 5 years since he slapped a bitch.

Imagine if, during his rookie season, there had been a video of him attacking and pulling a gun on a woman in a nightclub.

Or, you know... any of the other times he hit women in public.

LJ sucks. He never would have had a career the way thing are now. He'd have been run clean out of the NFL before he ever started a game.
