REPORT: Who went to the game yesterday? Who met who? Photos? Experience?

So, how was yesterday's Chiefs / Cards game for all who attended?

What was the experience like?
How was tailgating?
How was the food?
Did you meet other CP'ers?
How was the heat?
Getting in and out of stadium?
Did you take photos you can share?
Did you get your drink on?
Did you do any sightseeing around the Phoenix area?
Biggest surprise?
Anyone brawl?
Did you see X-Factor on the corner with his shopping cart begging for change?

Inquiring minds want to know!

Great weekend. My one and only complaint was the aids parade getting into State Farm stadium. Took nearly 1.5 hours to get parked. **** all that color coded parking. When I finally got to the lot there was a gazillion open spaces. Just a total bottleneck due to residential stoplight cadence and 50K cars on the street. Made the parking crew at Arrowhead look like a well oiled machine.

That's it though, loved every other minute of the Kingdom taking over the desert.

Took 1.5 hours to get parked? Seriously? Wow! What time did you get in line to park?

I enjoyed the stadium. Easy to get in/out of (once parked), was comfortable on a 100+ degree day, and Cards fan seemed to be a friendly, yet indifferent bunch.

It was my first domed football game so that was kind of unique.

The problem seemed to be that the stadium itself is somewhat in a residential area. So you had regular ol Sunday afternoon traffic light cadence with an influx of gameday volume. So sitting at stoplights with like 4 cars making it through on a green arrow. On top of that, the lots are color coded, so if you had green per se you were directed to the other side of the stadium for that specific lot instead of say red parking at Arrowhead and you can park wherever, outside of gold. Poor signage, staff just standing around what little shade was available, first game of the season, etc. and it was a bit of a clunky process.

Yeah, I had much higher expectations for that setup. We only had a couple lights to get through from Topgolf and the timing of the lights was so bad, we didn't move for 2 or 3 cycles.

They had westbound lanes blocked, yet weren't using them to funnel southbound 101 traffic to those lanes and northbound to the eastbound lanes... and then they bottlenecked everyone into one entrance. And of course just turn off the damn street lights.

And then they funnel all of the foot traffic to walk in front of the lines of cars.

Why a stadium doesn't employ temporary footbridges to have all the pedestrians cross over the cars never made sense to me.

We were there. Cards fans aren’t loud on defense. Took a Lyft in, but the rideshare lot was a mess after the game. Had fun

Let me guess, that Cardinals Way street?

We were stuck on it for at least 40 minutes. The lights coming off the 101 were like 2-3 minutes and would flow, but on Cardinals Way the light was like 20 seconds and it was all jammed up from the 101 cars so only 1 or 2 cars could make it through.

Which probably makes sense the other 350 days of the year.

It was a great weekend... covered it in the other thread, but spent Saturday night downtown for dinner and drinks.

Had breakfast at Snooze (first tried it in Fort Collins and apparently they're everywhere now) and substituted vodka in an espresso martini for Elijah Craig and it was ****ing delicious.

Topgolf while watching the early games and lunch/drinks, which ended up being nice for the parking situation since it was just around the block from the stadium.

Unfortunately, didn't have time to get to the tailgate... parked on the other side of the stadium from the green lot since it was the easiest option from Topgolf.

The stadium is really nice. A little strange how open it is in terms of seating, but of course Arizona isn't known for huge fan bases. I was a little concerned about temperatures in the upper deck (Chase Field can get fairly warm even with the roof closed), but it was really comfortable throughout the stadium.

Stood and cheered early on at the end of a play and got a "please don't stand, we'd like to watch the game, too".... but, that couple ended up being pretty laid back over all (the husband was a bit too bias on calls and pretty snarky on calling out his team... he was entertaining). Our row had mostly Chiefs fans, chatted with one most of the game who said he frequented the AZ Chiefs Kingdom (apparently not a CPer).

Chiefs Kingdom was well represented. Multiple Arrowhead chants in the 3rd and 4th quarter... Cards fans were kind of loud on the first two Chiefs drives and then just seemed to give up.

Fantastic weekend all around.

Yep. On the way to Topgolf, I was actually paranoid of taking that exit, thinking they would be funneling everyone to the stadium, so I tool Camelback.... and then sat at the light off 101 for about 5 minutes.

From TG, swung around on Cardinals Way and the first light before 101 would turn green, but the far light would stay red. After a few cycles of that, the couple cars in front said screw it and clogged the intersection just to get through... and magically that was when both lights turned green at the same time.

And all they'd have to do is turn all lanes into eastbound going into that lot with warnings that you better be going to the game. I actually think it has more potential than the mess at Arrowhead if they would put a tiny bit more effort into traffic control.

I was there. Had a great time. I can only imagine how much it costs for AC in the stadium it was downright chilly in there and you could fry and egg quickly on the sidewalk outside.

Didn't have any trouble parking. Stayed by the airport and left the hotel at noon and in our seats 10 minutes before kickoff.

Lots of Chiefs fans it seemed about 50/50. I got sick of going to too many NFL games because of the drunk asshole opposing fans. These Cardinals fans were delightful and no one talked shit the entire day. Towards the end of the game there was almost a fight between opposing fans and I told the Cardinals guy "dude, you don't want to be on YouTube fighting in the stands". That's the only altercation I saw all day.

They opened Torchy's Tacos in Phoenix (the tex mex chain from Austin) and we had breakfast there before the game. I'm originally from Texas so I was loving some high quality breakfast tacos.

Loved every minute of the game. Zero suspense after the first drive, but when you are a fan, aa blowout is super fun to watch live.
