Why? They live reckless lives. Bowie himself admitted he snorted so much Coke one night when he sneezed "half my brain came out"

His songs did not suck.

He influenced generations...as in multiple generations...of artists.

Man, why do you have to take a dump on everything?

Even Puddles Pity Party is influenced by Bowie.
And then there are those of us who are snobbish about his earlier less commercial stuff being cooler than even what you posted

Hope you didn't take that as a rebuke. I sincerely couldn't tell if you were praising or knocking him.

Dinny's good people, and hilarious in game threads.

Reading his discography I see "China Girl" hit #3. It's hard not to chuckle at least a bit listening to that:

Meh, screw it...I'll own up to it.

I freaking love "China Girl." One of my all time favorite songs.

Love "Sound and Vision," "Under Pressure," "Golden Years," "Space Oddity," "Ashes to Ashes," "I'm Afraid of Americans," etc...

Hate this news.

Huge loss.

I was never a fan of his growing up. I liked a song or two but that was it.

A few years ago when the American version of "Life On Mars" came out it hooked me. I had to own all Bowie...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Nothing wrong with that song at all, though I do prefer Iggy's original version. Not poppy at all, moody and borderline menacing.

As a complete aside, if a time machine is created in my lifetime first order of business for me is to be present for the night that inspired TVC15.
