Ok Fat ****s.

I'm challenging all of you 'pop' (as you say in KC) lovers to throw away the habit forever.

I'm a former user and have been clean for over two years now. I will do one 12-24 ounce cola once every month or less, So I wouldn't say I'm ENTIRELY clean - but pretty well behaved. Most of you pop heads drink tons of it, daily.

Well we have some darned good news tonight because tonight 10-08-14 if you commit we will end this habit or decrease it. I see no issue with rewarding yourself every now and again w/ a coke classic or whichever your poison. Provided you're seriously quitting. If it's something you can't handle and have to quit forever and NEVER reward yourself with a coke classic or whichever your poison, then certainly don't risk it. And only you know your type and restraining ability.

I'd like to challenge anyone who has thought about this but never been pushed. It's just not that hard to quit. So.....

I've actually read several articles on studies that seem to indicate people who drink diet soda tend to be heavier than those that drink regular soda. It's probably more the other choices they make (i.e. I can have that cheesecake because I had diet soda instead of regular) but it's interesting.

Don't you think that something written in the early 1990's could not still be true today?

Because it isn't. Diet Soda and sweeteners are fine just like most everything else in moderation. If you are drinking a 6 pack of diet soda a day, I but your eating habits match your shitty drinking habits and that's probably why you're fat, not because of some sweetener.

The papers I've read shows that is true only when someone first starts using artificial sweeteners (you'll get a minor insulin spike). Your body figures it pretty quickly, though, and the insulin spike goes away.
