Why is this a desperation signing? It will probably cost nothing, he's better than what we have, and he knows the offense. I see no problem with the move. Junior Hemmingway is complete garbage. The Chiefs need a reliable hands receiver.

Bandaid JAG for the trash heap. I wonder if this is any indication of Avery's health.

If this is true I'm all for it, a timely signing that might really help... but "ravens insider"

What the hell would they know about it?

Aaron Wilson has hit on a lot of Chiefs inside info. He's been a pretty damn good source.

Ravens insider must have some connections. He seems to find a lot of news early.

I would think Reid knows he needs a deep threat and that Avant doesn't help there.

I know people will disagree, but the Chiefs could have used McCluster this year. Not as a gadget guy, but as a possession receiver. Avant can fill that role in ways that Hemmingway was absolutely terrible at doing.

We need a deep threat too. Not so that we keep attacking vertical, but because we need somebody to at least keep the defense honest. Avery at #2 with Avant playing McCluster/Hemming way role is a good way to bring our offense back to life. It's not going to be all world, but it'll be better than what we've seen the past few weeks.
