Thinking about buying a newer muscle car

I like my Subaru Impreza a lot, but I really miss the rumble of a V8. I am starting to assemble a list of newer muscle cars I could potentially buy to replace my Subaru.

Question is, what should I get?

I really like the new 5.0 Mustangs. Always been a fan of Camaros, but not sure I am the biggest fan of the new styling. A Dodge Challenger or Charger would also be nice. Also on my list is an 03-04 Cobra Mustang. I could get the Cobra cheaper, and have a Mustang that actually has an independent rear suspension and a lot of power under the hood.

Any other cars I should consider? What do you all think about the cars listed above? Keep in mind I am looking to spend no more than 30k overall.

Fiance always liked the 440hp Subie I had, even over my faster/bigger Hp cars. I have learned my lesson with Subaru though, even with that 440 i was only an 11.9 car, and if I wanted to go faster I REALLY had to spend some extra money to build trans/block etc etc. While the EVO chassis starts out more expensive, they are cheaper to make go REAL fast and there are way more people who can work on them (nobody likes ****ing with that boxer motor)

I liked my 10 second Trans Am too, dont get me wrong, but having an AWD 4 door is too convenient, especially if I can get back in the tens with a big ****ing turbo ~

edit; ahhhh the ol SAABaru. WRX in german clothing~

It is a Dodge, not even close. Unless you like seeing the mechanic.

If you are talking about some of the originals, I am cool with that. Not the new ones though.

I am going to start looking a little more in the direction of the 03-04 Cobra or an 05 GTO. I have a feeling those terminator Mustangs could sky rocket in value over the upcoming years. Those 6.0 GTO's are no slouch either. I might just look into a Caddy too after doing some research and all the praise they have gotten in this thread.

What's your take on convertibles? Never driven one, but I feel like a Terminator convertible could be pretty sweet.

you know this how? I would prefer they didn't sell any better than they are, as I don't want to see them become common. But you might want to read some of the facts.

You linked me to satisfaction surveys which say nothing about a car's track record for reliability. Congratulations.

Interesting, thanks for posting those.

Round and round we go. So the owners are satisfied with unreliable cars? Really? I wonder how they know the 2013 cars are unreliable, when they are basically the same car since 2008 that was reliable?

We need to tell these people they need to see the mechanic more often, that their cars are breaking down. Believe me, anytime an owner hears a squeek, it is a major ordeal on these sites!
Challengertalk.com Challengerforumz.com

Your AOL link actually ranks the Challenger among the best in 4 of the 8 categories, and shows the mechanical getting worse. I find that odd, don't you?

Priced out a couple Terminators today. Found one for 15k that had only 32k miles on it.
