Maybe the moral of the story is that players with certain views just shouldn't pick Kansas city. I really hate that that's a reason to not play for this team, but maybe that's just how it is. Albert Wilson has already spoken out about how he was not allowed to express his views. I really hope we didn't set a precedent because of this.
So what? He's a dam professional. Act like it

Who cares what some dumb redneck in a trailer says. Act like a pro and don't even respond or respect the heckler.

If somebody called Alex Smith a scared California suburban boy, who should be ashamed of himself for his progressive beliefs, do you think he'd yell back at the fans? Lol no, Alex handled the criticism like a pro.

If Peters let's fans (fans of Chiefs or rivals) get into his head, then maybe the NFL isn't for him

I think that he thinks the fake cause the players kneel about isn't fake.

Look at the results of the poll above. People convinced they're affecting anything by their individual viewing habits are hilariously fooling themselves.

With out our demand for the game there are no big tv and ad deals.

The goal is to have as many of us tune in as possible. We the consumers absolutely are the driving force. Period.

This is the first time the Chiefs have drafted and STARTED a 1st round QB in my life as an NFL fan (drafting Blackledge when I was ****ing 2 years old doesn't count).

There are so many fans just like me who've been waiting and waiting for the team to do something like this.

And now that the era has begun they're going to stop watching football or at least become less interested in it because of the symbolic decisions that a SMALL handful of players make that affects 90 seconds before every game?

Mind bottling.

I don't give a shit about the flag issue. What I do know is I'll be watching MORE football than I did during the Alex/Pioli eras. Because it's now an exciting time to be a KC fan.

I don't know if that what caused him problems last year, but it certainly isn't an excuse.
There is an old cultural European Yiddish proverb that goes........... If she burns the meatloaf and you want a divorce, you can get one.

The point is that if the relationship has gone south so bad that a burnt meatloaf is a huge deal, the underlying feelings for each other or for one anyway are no longer there.

SNR, that's a fair point and all, but don't you think every time you see Pat throw a nasty 60 yard bomb, or you see Kelce stiff arm a LB and rumble for 20 yards - you'll have these lingering thoughts in the back of your mind???

Was there somebody playing right now that wasn't standing during the anthem?

And why weren't they fired instantly by the GM or the President or Jesus or the mayor? And why do they hate the fans, and the troops, and police and America so much for that 90 seconds before the game?

There use to be a sports show that had clock. That showed days, sometime hours between NFL player arrests. Do not be surprised if some find civil injustice a little self serving. Laugh able even

This whole thing is the dumbest non-issue of the 21st century. All the NFL has to do is hold the players in the locker room until after the anthem, just like before 2009. How hard can that be? If it's such a big deal, why doesn't every red-blooded American watching at home put down his (or her) nachos and beer, get their lazy ass out of the recliner, and stand in front of the TV? Yeah, let's take a poll of that.
As far as the players actions, their only stage should be within the white lines of the field. It's like any other job. Save your political and social views for your own time.

I lived through the Mike Livingston years and I will watch the Chiefs this year but it is naive to think this isn't impacting attendance and eyeballs for legitimate reasons. To hold Michael Brown up on a pedestal for a movement and basically call anyone who doesn't agree a racist is offensive. Randy Moss having Michael Brown on his tie at the HOF ceremony highlighted the ignorance of the movement. I'm all for legitimate prosecution of bad cops, like the one in South Carolina who will spend the rest of his life in jail for shooting the guy in the back, but many of these were justified with the cops asking for compliance and the individual having a gun.

2 of these only show through 16. I know what I saw. There was nobody at 49er games. I am sure there were a lot of season tickets sold however as you could buy tickets to the game for peanuts on craigslist.

The bars that showed all the games had a lot less customers too. Hell I could have had a seat at the bar for the Chiefs playoff game. Place was a mad house before.

This is an interesting year with gambling legalized. Revenues should record setting and not by just a little either.

LOL at the notion fans' taunting/booing influence performance.

multi-millionaires, paid to play a game, change their performance because of a few thousand drunk fans said mean things to them???

For ***k sake.....if a players' psyche is so fragile that some taunting is going to impact their performance on the field, welp, that's NOT the kind of player I want on my organization anyway.

Peters is gone because he is, and always had been, a head-case/locker-room cancer - who apparently has aversion to tackling.

Chiefs rolled the dice on a head-case, got some dividends.......but the negative outweighed the positives.

If he took a knee each week, but wasnt a dipshit on the field/locker room, etc. - he'd still be here.
