Been watching my guys a bit in preseason to see how well I might have done. I'll probably update this as they go along. Just color code. Orange is for guys I think I really hit on. Blue is guys that should play significant snaps. Red for guys that I think will make a roster. Green for doubtful to make the roster.

Stanley - solid starter at LT as a rookie - gotta say that's a fine use of the pick. He's going to be a 10 year starter at LT and guys like that are massive assets.

Thomas - In contention for the best pick of the draft. Some would argue Prescott and its hard to disagree, but man, 92 receptions for 1137 yards and 9 TDs is elite production. He's a bona-fide #1 wideout and the best WR taken in this draft with a hell of a lot of room to spare.

Cravens - He disappointed a bit in Washington, IMO. I never felt like Washington was a great fit for him but we'll see how he develops. 11 games with a sack and a pick playing ILB for them. I think he's more valuable in a hybrid/strong-side OLB role. He's just not big enough for the interior and the injuries he suffered support that. He's a solid starting caliber player but I think there's more there if he's utilized better.

Bradberry - Another good pick for the Giants here; starting CB who took way too much grief for not being Josh Norman but came on strong and looks like a good ballplayer going forward.

Hogan - Yeah he kinda sucks, but he wasn't demonstrably worse than Cook, Kessler or Jones who all went before him. He might be a viable backup.

Sandland - Packers practice squad; knew it was a reach but didn't have a 7th. I like the skills but he'll almost certainly amount to nothing.

On balance the Giants got a starting LT, a #1 WR, a starting CB and a starting LB from this draft. For having slightly below average draft capital, I'd say that's a hell of a haul in NYG.

Apple - disappointed me a bit; I actually think Bradberry outplayed him. Dynamic player but seemed like the game moved a bit too fast for him at times. Showed plus athleticism that will surface as the game slows down but there was more of a learning curve than I expected.

Thompson - Hurt almost immediately. I knew this wasn't a great pick shortly after making it and after a lost season as a rookie, it seems increasingly likely that he'll just kinda fade away.

Kaufusi - Broke his ankle in camp; never played a snap. INC.

Tretola - Was on the roster all year and dressed out a couple of times to limited game action. Knew he was raw and we'll see if he can step forward. '17 will be a big year for him. He'll break into the rotation or he'll fade away.

Valentine - Starting some games for the champs and was a key member of their interior rotation. Gonna say that's a HR pick for a 6th rounder.

Toner - made the Cardinals roster; played a couple of games. Like Tretola, it will be key for him to get into the playing rotation this year. as Iupati and Veldheer get older. He played great in the pre-season so there's still a shot at a long-term starter at G there.

Davis - Made the team; played in 11 games primarily on STs. Caught few passes but you know the Packers will be looking to add to the WR corps. He'll need to improve to stay on the squad. He has the speed/measurables for it but the odds are long. Not a bad 7th round pick though as his STs skills probably keep him in the NFL for a few years.

On balance, not as impactful a draft as I'd expected but some nice players and no obvious busts. If this is your draft every year, you're probably looking at a perennial decent team but not a true contender. Could have been better but could've been worse.

I'm really happy how this draft turned out. My #1 goal was to improve the talent level on defense (especially pass rush and secondary), and I think I did it at every level. A lot of speed, toughness, and playmaking ability was added with the guys I selected, so I'd expect immediate improvement in Bradley's defense. Joe Dahl and Marquez North also add to some depth on offense. Dahl could be a starter on their OL.

I'll post my Redskins draft when I get done with my last pick tomorrow.

End of Season Assessment:

Eagles
1. Carson Wentz, QB - Eagles
Started all 16 games, completing 62.4% of his passes for 3,782 yds with 16 TDs and 14 Ints. Looks like a future franchise player that just needs time.
3. Vadal Alexander, OG - Raiders
Ended up playing in 9 and starting 5 games for the Raiders. Showed some promise but he needs to develop his strength. In retrospect I reached massively and it may be a couple years before we know what Alexander is.
3. Kentrell Brothers, LB - Vikings
Brothers didn't play until week 8 and he only did so on special teams. He was actually very good on special teams and may be the lone bright spot in the Vikings draft class to this point, but I reached massively again apparently.
4. Maliek Collins, DT - Cowboys
Collins played in 16 and started 14 games for the Cowboys, registering 23 tackles and 5 sacks. Looks like I actually hit pretty well the way Collins closed out the season.
5. Jhurell Pressley, RB - Vikings
Pressley bounced from the Vikings to Falcons to Packers and is a free agent. I apparently misjudged this one.
5. Cody Core, WR - Bengals
Core played in 8 games and started the final 4, finishing with 17 catches for 200 yards. He showed some promise and may end up Cincy's #2 WR (to replace LaFell) while they keep Boyd in the slot. Jury is still out on this pick.
6. LeShaun Sims, CB - Titans
I wasn't sure if Sims would make the roster at one point, but he ended up playing in 13 games and starting the last 2, finishing with 22 tackles and 1 Int. Could have a future. Dick LeBeau stated he is one of the team's "promising young players" and "has a bright future ahead of him."
7. Andrew Adams, S - Giants
Adams played in 14 games and started 13, finishing with 46 tackles and 1 Int for the Giants. He looks like he has a future. Not bad for a 7th round pick. He was one of PFFs 10 best rookies.
7. Antwane Grant, WR - Bengals
Seems like every receiver I like ends up a Bengal. Anyhow, Grant was on the team all year but didn't see any snaps. Might be a future #4/5, but who knows.

--- Appears I might have John Dorsey syndrome? I can't hit a 3rd rounder but I can hit late? Overall, this looks like it could be a homerun draft if Alexander and Brothers pan out. If Wentz, Collins, Core, Sims, and Adams continue their upward trajectory then this is still a very good draft as it looks like I already hit 4 starters.

Jets
1. Noah Spence, DE - Buccaneers
Spence played in 16 games and started 3, primarily serving as a situational pass rusher, and finished with 22 tackles and 5.5 sacks (plus 3 FF). Spence looks to have a bright future as he continues to develop, but it was obvious he wasn't strong enough to hold the edge against the run early on. He should develop into a solid player.
2. Dak Prescott, QB - Cowboys
Started all 16 games, completing 67.8% of his passes for 3,667 yds with 23 TDs and 4 Ints. Looks like a homerun pick. I took him 2 rounds earlier than the 'Boys and still feel like it was a tremendous value.
3. Joe Schobert, LB - Browns
Schobert played in all 16 games, starting 4, and finished with 28 tackles and 0.5 sacks. I'm not sure what the Brown's plans are with Schobert, as I saw him as a convert to ILB. Cleveland has good ILBs in Davis and Kirskey, added Collins at OLB and they used Cam Johnson at the other OLB slot. They could use a more dynamic pass rusher opposite Collins if they stay with a 3-4 defense, so it's an odd fit for Schobert because he lacks the bulk on the outside in that scheme. Perhaps they develop another year and he takes over inside for Davis or Kirskey when they become free agents in 2018?
4. Connor McGovern, OG - Broncos
I was pretty high on McGovern and thought he'd be a plug and play at OG on Denver's shit offensive line, but he wasn't and never saw action in the regular season despite a solid preseason. Definitely not sure what he is at this point.
5. Temarrick Hemingway, TE - Rams
Hemingway got buried on the depth chart behind Kendricks and Higbee, as expected. He needed to add bulk this year anyhow, so we'll have to see how he develops going forward. Definitely went to the worst situation possible, with a terrible coach, terrible offense, terrible QB, and 2 TEs ahead of him.
7. Clay DeBord, OT - Cardinals
DeBord bounced from the Cards to the Cowboys, where he remains. Backup hoping to stick and develop his strength, which is about his ceiling anyhow.

--- Really disapointed with how this draft turned out after my top 2. Seems like Schobert and Hemingway ended up in some bad situations, but maybe they just need to develop.

Schobert was given every opportunity, including being handed a starting job week 1. He was not good. He was ok on special teams after being awesome at Wisky on teams. Browns are switching to a 4-3 this year so he has a shot to stick around as a backup and teamer.

I expected him to fail if they kept him outside, and they did. Sticking a rookie 6'1" 240# player at OLB in a 3-4 is reeruned. Of course, it is the Browns. Now, a strong side backer in a 4-3? Makes a shitload of sense.
