What Happened With Billy Butler early in the game?
I went to a sports bar to watch the game last night. I could see the game well on a large monitor, but there was no game sound (I don't live in the Royals nation). So, were in the bottom of the first (I think) , 2 outs, Hos on 3rd, Billy on 1st, Gordo up to bat. All of the sudden, the A's start throwing the ball all over the infield, eventually getting Hosmer out at home. When TBS comes back from break, they show Butler and Kuntz just before he starts walking/running toward second....then Butler talking to a lot of coaches in the dugout.

What the hell happened?

By the way, since my alarm clock goes off at 2am weekdays, I turned off the radio stream after Yo gave up the three run dong.

but I wasn't mad at Billy ONE IOTA because that was a badass hit that we DESPERATELY needed after Moss hit that 2 run shot in the 1st.

I mean, let's not pretend Alex was going to get a hit 0-2 against Lester there...I certainly wasn't fooled into thinking so.
Speaking of Alex Gordon, is there any chance he gets his shit together for the series against the Angels? I sure ****ing hope so.

I think Ned's covering up for him. Billy thought he could take a walking lead and then steal second because Lester never throws to first.

It is too dumb to think Billay could draw a throw to second, he isn't fast enough.

He wasn't gonna hit Lester yesterday...it's just a bad matchup for him. I sure hope he gets hot, though. If not, I'm ok with Hosmer getting hot instead

I don't think that play cost us anything except an out to start the next inning, but to call a double steal of that nature with Butler isn't very smart.

Hosmer getting hot is way more important for the Royals than Gordon IMO.
