-- Odd/Mysterious sites on the web - watch at your own risk.

Okay - I'm not really big on hype - but I watched this in its entirety and it gave me nightmares for two nights. Not a big deal, yet it really is strange.

Any of you run into any odd sites? I don't mean the deep web - I just mean random odd sites that you may've heard of or run into.

Watch this at your own risk - it really is somewhat disturbing - but it also TOO is very interesting!

Its ostensibly a website for a store selling wedding dresses, but the design of the site itself is pretty creepy, and if you follow any of the various links you can find some pretty disturbing stuff. Its gotten quite a bit of attention because no one can figure out if its a joke or if its really just a site made by an insane person.

I've been interested in Yvette's. I've clicked through a bit, and it seems like an old Myspace page with the pics and links set up the way they are. The setup itself has this "off" feeling about it. So far I've found lots of strange pics of some dude, plenty of weird pics of people trying dresses on, and a recipe for a pie. The one pic that kind of gave me the chills is a painting of a mother and a son. The mom looks like an obvious painted face, but the kid looks almost hyper real and has that illusion of looking right at you. That pic was out of place with the rest on that page and really stood out. Strange.

no but it seems fairly slow - I DO like the ruins etc, the pics seem to have an urban exploration theme and odd (dark ambient) music. I will go there eventually - Fairly sure it's safe to visit.

drugs is a fascinating thing lol *and i partake in them at this point of life*.. but sadly.. all of this is just avoiding the real reality.. less exciting, perhaps.. certainly more frightening.

White Enamel*is a creepy online game wherein you point and click your way around a haunted insane asylum. Arguably more like a horror movie than a fun game, White Enamel will haunt you from its creepy soundtrack of an old man singing to its abandoned location. The word "eerie" does not begin to describe this site, which will be a bad choice for those who get easily scared. White Enamel is a "walkthrough" game that might land you in an abandoned psychiatric hospital yourself once you're done playing it.

Hashima Island*lets people of the internet drag and click around this "forgotten world" off the coast of Japan. What is so creepy about this site is that Hashima Island is a real place, known as "the ghost island of Japan". From the "Stairway to Hell" to the Coal Mine, this website was brilliantly designed to creep absolutely everyone out. It even uses Google Street Views to make you feel like you are really in this eerie and terrifyingly real location.

Darwin Time*is a messy compilation of conspiracy theories and disturbing images. Its borderline-incoherent main page discusses the need for a world revolution and includes photos of things ranging from Hitler to Woodstock. The creepiest thing about this site, though, is - by far - the fact that the thousands of hyperlinks embedded in the text actually work.*The Twitter account associated with the website has been suspended.

Truly a haunting place. It was people stacked on top of each other like a cross between Manhattan and the favelas of Rio, only on a tiny island, working for the coal mine, until it had a failure or was mined out [I forget which] and everyone just abandoned it.

There's a documentary [I want to say VICE] where the son of one of the workers there revisists the ruins.
