I counted three WR's WIDE open on that play. Including one center of the field with a 30+ yard guaranteed gain.

A lot of shitting on a QB who has a lower INT% than Alex Smith this year. I thought that was the sort of thing True Fans dug?

Ohhhhh, they cherish low int. ratios the way Reid cherishes extra fries at the bottom of the bag.

As long as the accuracy is repeatable and the release is quick, you can't spend a **** ton of time trying to correct that. Footwork + Balance is easier to correct but if you've got someone who throws like Leftwich where it takes a lifetime to get the ball ready, you're gonna have a bad time. I mean, Favre had a ridiculous wind up but it was still a quick release. Rivers shot-puts the football and it comes out pretty quick. Not everyone has a perfect over the top release

Marino was before my time but I wouldn't really say Rivers has bad mechanics, just an odd, side-armed release. He doesn't often attempt 40 yard throws in tight windows off his back foot the way Stafford has over the past 5 years. |

I'd probably say no.
Gaining Megatron means downgrading at DL, CB, and OL. |

Stafford's mechanics aren't bad, but lazy. He has a tendency to fall into bad habits, but his throwing motion, in and of itself, is fine.

No, Rivers' mechanics are awful. Some QBs don't need to look good doing it. Rivers certainly does not. Watch some video of Marino. He and Rivers' style are similar.

Sorry folks, but you're just going to have to prepare yourself for Rivers-to-Megatron.

That's the only ability Alex Smith lacks that they have. Hootie is right, you can't evaluate QB's to save your ****ing life.

Alex needs a top 5 defense more than he needs a top 5 WR.

No single receiver on an Andy Reid coached and Alex Smith quarterbacked team will have a guy eclipse 900 yards.
I'm sure Clay's already posted the receiving stats of Crabtree and Davis in 2012 when Smith and Kaepernick started. In 2003, Todd freaking PINKSTON was the leading receiver in yards with 575, with Missouri Southern State's finest James Thrash right behind him. It seems like a minor miracle TO had 1,200 considering Westbrook was right behind him with 700 as a HB and Pinkston with 650+. There's absolutely no sense signing a guy like Megatron for this offense. It'd be a colossal waste of time for him and money for the Hunt family.
