Our Restorative God ! Do you just want relief or do you want real change ?

Since becoming Christians we know in our minds that Jesus forgives but in our hearts many of us struggle to really believe that particular sins repeated over and over or that one hideous sin you committed can truly be forgiven. Thus real change and emotional freedom seems unattainable. And because most of the time there is no one harder on us than ourselves, we continually emotionally beat ourselves up with shame, thinking and feeling that we are just hopeless causes. When we do this we actually neuter our faith in Christ that He can actually really change our sinful behavioral patterns through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Listen up because there is good news !! Our God not only can restore us but even more importantly He "wants" to restore us and is not surprised in the least by our sin. He saw it coming and wants to truly heal and restore !!

Here is the 2nd talk by Pastor Jeff in a new series called "Summer in the Psalms" and this talk is called "Our Restorative God"!! Pastor Jeff a talented speaker and teacher of the Bible in this video sermon/audio only if you choose, gives much encouragement, joy and hope to both Christians and unbelievers. For those of you who have not heard him speak he is truly one of the most authentic, genuine, straight from the heart, pull no punches, tells it like it is, gifted speaker of the Gospel that I have heard in a long time and have met. He is the 'real deal' and your time will not be wasted listening to him.

Come be truly restored and blessings to all !!!

Proverbs 18

2 Fools find no pleasure in understanding
but delight in airing their own opinions.

6 The lips of fools bring them strife,
and their mouths invite a beating.

7 The mouths of fools are their undoing,
and their lips are a snare to their very lives.

Own it and repent. And then you will finally be free from yourself.

Looks like someone didn't read the part in the Bible about lying. Congrats on being a certified counselor. I had one of those in high school. He helped guide me through the application process to Norte Dame.

I regret nothing about the education I received. My parents/grandparents paid for it so maybe they got ripped off. 😃

Here let me edumacate you Both Psychotherapy/Counseling much of the time will crossover into one another but then there are times when they are used separately. I am trained in both arenas my friend. The Counseling from Denver Seminary and the Psychotherapy from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Ctr. And btw learning the Biblical Scriptural part of Hermeneutics and breaking it down from the original Greek and integrating it into the Counseling/Psychotherapy world was the most challenging part of my training.

Definition of Psychotherapy: The treatment of a behavior disorders, mental illness, or any other condition by psychological means. Psychotherapy may utilize insight, persuasion, suggestion, reassurance, and instruction so that patients may see themselves and their problems more realistically and have the desire to cope effectively with them.

There are many possible definitions of psychotherapy, just as there are many different types of psychotherapy, including -- just to mention a few -- cognitive-behavioral therapy, family therapy, interpersonal therapy, and psychodynamic therapy.

Medical Definition of counseling
: professional guidance of the individual by utilizing psychological methods especially in collecting case history data, using various techniques of the personal interview, and testing interests and aptitudes.

yaaaaawn.

You give the blame to man, and then transfer it to God.

I give the credit to God, because he REVEALS his truth.

You see nothing, other than your same old tired, baseless argument.

Sadly, you probably think it is a fresh take.

I hate when actors break character as well. It doesn't mean much otherwise.
