Seriously? How about go **** yourself.

Wanna talk about [gaps] in the narrative? How about the gap where you TOOK OUT where I acknowledged that I was delving into BROAD STEREOTYPES and GENERALITIES against my preference because that's what everyone seems to want to speak in.

Anecdotes are irrevelant to broad stereotypes.

You can talk about what the general trends in society are, or you can talk about what specific people said at specific times, but evidence in one discussion is generally irrelevant in the other.

The point I was making in the general sense was that it's weird to argue that the turnaround on Kanye from conservatives is bigger than the turnaround from liberals, because in general in the past, conservatives didn't care about his music or his love life, or his fashion, or his twitter feed, or any of it being relevant to their daily life interests at all. But in general in the past, liberals were concerned about his music, fashion, life, words, etc., and now are completely detaching on the sole basis of Trump support.

And FTR, I'm not the one who set up the premise that the liberal response to Kanye's Trump support is reasoned and rational, and the conservative response in deranged and 'amusing.' I'm simply responding to the premise as stated. I acknowledged from the very first that people have had a complicated relationship with him, balancing his talents and his personality. It just seems doctrinaire and knee-jerk partisan to pretend that people who largely didn't give a shit about him used to hate him passionately and now love him unreservedly, and to further pretend that people who were passionately invested in him, for a variety of reasons and to a variety of extents, are just 'ho-hum' erasing him completely from their lives this week because they've been slowly working towards this week for years.

Its just sad that, as soon as he he takes an evenhanded (I dont agree with everything Trump does), but open minded view on Trump... everyone here, and everyone across the nation cant wait to disown him and talk about his mental health

According to him he tried to speak with Obama for 8 years and got nowhere, gives Trump a call and got a meeting almost immediately... he is quite right about nothing changing in Chicago, and he also should mention the historic record lows of black unemployment under Trump when twitter beefing with his old buddy John Legend

Its a good thing he is filthy rich, because the knives are out for him now... lost 9 million twitter followers in a single day

And lets be real, how pathetic are people that they would suddenly hate one of their favorite artists without hearing him out and at least thinking about it?

Not sure, but most likely just hip-hop fans who are so brain dead they'd suddenly hate a favorite artist for nothing more than speaking his mind about politics

In his later years, Prince befriended and took on as quasi-advisers people like Van Jones and Cornel West... you can bet that never made me suddenly change my mind about Prince, would've gladly listened as he defended his stance there
