RunKC Mock (11/26)

Taking most of the assumptions from Shun but making it with my changes.

The Chiefs go 10-6 and make the playoffs. Go to Indy. Exact revenge. Then lose in NE. GB wins the SB.

S Eric Berry won’t return in 2015. Contract runs out.

OLB Justin Houston is franchised.

The Chiefs re-sign C Rodney Hudson 4 years, $20m ($6m guaranteed), DE Kevin Vickerson 2 years, $4m, S Ron Parker 3 years, $6m ($500k guaranteed).

The Chiefs cut: QB Chase Daniel, WR AJ Jenkins, WR Jason Avant, TE Anthony Fasano, DE Mike DeVito, OLB Frank Zombo, ILB Joe Mays, WR Donnie Avery.

OLB Josh Martin is tendered.

The following players walk in free agency: WR Junior Hemingway, WR Frankie Hammond, OT Ryan Harris, OG Jeff Linkenbach, OG Mike McGlynn, CB Chris Owens,

The Chiefs re-sign the following players for minimal deals: ILB Josh Mauga, S Kurt Coleman, LS Thomas Gafford, S Kelcie McCray

10. The Chiefs sign the following free agents: ILB KJ Wright (Seahawks) 3 years, $9m ($2m guaranteed), WR Denarius Moore (Raiders) 3 years, $10 m.

11. Compensatory picks: 3rd, 5th, 5th, 7th

5 round mock

1. Jalen Collins CB/S LSU-What a talent. This guy held Amari Cooper in check. That’s how good he is.
6’2”, almost 200 lbs, longs arms and ran a reported 4.42 40 (which I think will improve).
There is no doubt in my mind right now that CB will be the best player available when we pick. Alex Carter, Trae Waynes, Jalen Collins, Kevin Johnson, Ronald Darby. All very good CB’s.
Marcus Cooper has turned into a dumpster fire, Chris Owens is a midget and Jamell Fleming is good depth and that’s it.
2. Antwan Goodley WR Baylor-He’s 6 ft with his shoes on, so he’s tall enough. He’s like a better version of former Baylor WR Terrance Williams. Why? Because he’s just as strong, but he’s got the burst and speed to be a downfield threat. He ran a 4.41 and will likely get that up to at least 4.4 at the combine. Wouldn’t be shocked if he’s gone though.
He’s perfect for he WCO and is what we are desperately missing right now.
3. Justin Cox SS MSU-6’2” roughly 200 lbs and runs a 4.3. He won’t be here right? I think he will. Why? Bc this is his first year playing Safety. He played CB and wasn’t a fit at all. Our coaching staff can develop him.
3. (Comp) EJ Bibbs TE ISU-Great blocker and a very underrated receiver. Huge redzone target who can make plays. Having this guy with Kelce would make this offense so much more lethal.
4. Daryl Williams OT OU-Big massive frame from an OT who did a nice job as RT and even played LT. Perfect swing tackle and potential replacement for Donald Stephenson.
5. Marcus Hardison DE ASU-6’4” 300 lbs with great hand use, strength and agility. These guys are always needed. Sure Mike Catapano is coming back, but you always want depth.
5. Kenny Bell WR Nebraska-Good size and speed. Good YAC ability as well. Good depth for us and can play the slot.

Collins is not a 1st round pick. He'll be a mid-round guy. He was benched several times for Freshmen players. I like his physical abilities, he didn't quite play up to his measurables.

You should include PJ Williams in that list of CBs.

I think Williams will go top 15 at least.

Trae Waynes from Michigan State, me says...

.. and I'd be content enough with this offseason, RunKC. Keep em coming!
