Alright, Damn it. I need a soundbar for a TV

I have a wide open dining room and kitchen together that is a big ass room. I have a TV mounted on the wall. I had a cruddy little soundbar for it. It died.

I'll get a new soundbar. Cool. So I get on Amazon, because that's what I do. All that's ****ing on there is goofy ass offbreed things. And normally I wouldn't care, but my DirecTV remote won't work with them.

So what's out there for inexpensive, compact, TV sound? I don't need great sound, I just need better than TV sound.

I was hoping to get something more compact. We currently have the broke thing on a little fold out table, but it's looking like the thing to do might be to mount the thing under the TV and move on.

I got a decent one at costco for like $175. it's not rattle the windows loud, but for the small room we have with the TV, and the price tag....I'm pretty dang pleased with it.
wireless to the sub-woofer.

See, I was hoping to spend like...$50. But I'm just a cheap ass. I'll spend some more cash for a good one I think.

Just do this then. About as good as you'll find if you don't want to spend a lot.

I like the woofer though and some side speakers. We have a Vizio setup (5.1) like this and it's good for our room which is decent size and 15 foot ceilings. We've had it 3 years and never a problem.

Heh. My wife independently bought the first one. I was envisioning a smaller box but its fine. I was using one of those old school Bose radios. I thought I'd seen units roughly that size but I couldn't come up with anything.

Bottom line: Great minds think alike!

Absolutely!

With the baby, we never use our surround sound anymore when we get to watch TV.

Nice! I may have to try one of those myself. But I'll wait until Tuesday to pull the trigger. Too close to Prime Day to not wait and see if they have a good deal on it.

If you can splurge get the 5.1 setup. Subwoofer is wireless and placed in the back of your room. The two mini side speakers are wired to that and can then be placed on the outside of your living room seating arrangement. Sound bar obviously sits under/front of the TV.

We actually did get the refurbished unit I posted 3 years ago and not a single problem at about half the cost of a new one.

I got a BOSE for I think $200 for the playoffs last year. Now we're hooked on it for everything.

Also listening to some blues right now on my Braven blue tooth. It's kick ass.

I picked up a sound bar on prime day. Normally $75, got it for$38. Probably nothing great, but can't be worse than my tv speakers.
