Car broke down

Our car broke down on the side of the road after a long day of driving. And we were in stop and go traffic, and all of the sudden it started jerking at low speed. Had to pull off the side of the road and get a tow. Just before it broke down the AC started cutting in and out especially at low speed.

Looking at it now there is a coolant leak.any ideas what would cause this mix of syndromes?

I'm betting it's that hose or the radiator. That hose should be a fairly simple fix
I can't find it. I did find all kinds of coolant pooled in all the plastic guards in the under carriage. If it is an active leak, I'm guessing the radiator. I'm wondering if it is leftover from the original leak and is just being blown from the fan? The spatter pattern suggests the leak is coming from down low, below that bolt.

Check the oil does it bring all the boys to the yard? If so its a HG, the bronco driving toward the end is a tad concerning though. Was it over heating??

That's the thing on those nissans. Many of them leak out not in.

At this point I can't really believe it's that though

The bucking is what made me think it was a head.
Coolant cylinders misfire.

But I'm thinking he got it hot and it was shutting down cylinders same with the AC.

Bad news with that is now there is a chance the HG is gonna pop

I just went thru this with a Saturn. Fixed the water pump, then the thermostat then the radiator. Finally had to strip the engine down and replace the head gasket.

Made it home, but will have to go back for the car sometime in the next few days. The following have happened on trips to the midwest over the last 10 years.

Hit a giant hunk of tread from a semi.

Narrowly missed hitting a deer.

Had a tire and wheel come from somewhere on the other side of the interstate, jump the concrete barrier, and smash into the front of our vehicle.

Driving back from western KS to fly out of MCI. My dad dozes off and hits the rumble strip about 4 times on the way back. At the time my daughter was going through some rough times with anxiety and other issues. By the time we get back to KC, she is such a mess she won't get on the plane. We rent a car and drive home.

Christmas of '13. We are all supposed to rendezvous at my parents house. Something like 25 of us in all. Between the weather and the flu not everyone makes it. Half the people get the stomach bug. I come down with it the day before we leave and I feel puny all the way home.

Went to Cancun on vacation last year. While we are there, my father in law passes away and we have to return early. I drive from Atlanta to Des Moines, to KC, to Springfield, to KC to Knoxville (home) in a week.

Tonight's car troubles are only the latest chapter.

Makes me want to give up driving long distance.
