That's gonna finish me off

After 40 years, I renounce my fanhood.

Yeah, I'm a pussy, whatever.

I just can't take it anymore. This franchise is now a national joke. And I can't absorb anymore of this punishment.

It's just not worth it anymore. Life's too short.

Flame away.

Pretty depressing. didn't officially do it for me, but I don't think I can put forth the passion and effort nearly as much anymore.

Just not a fan of this era of "arena league" NFL.

I'll NEVER renounce my fandom. This hurts like HELL and I'm ****ING PISSED as HELL but it will just make me stronger and more able to take the next soul crushing defeat. I tell you what though, IF MY Chiefs do ever win it all again in my lifetime, I'm going to be the absolute WORST WINNER ON THE PLANET and dish out so much shit to EVERYONE who ever made fun of my fandom. And if they're dead, I'm gonna crap an ARROWHEAD on their grave!

11-5 was fun. People loved that. 38-10 was fun. People loved that. Giving up a FOUR TOUCHDOWN LEAD in the playoffs is not fun. That's legendary suck. People do not like that.

Football season will be over soon, you'll have plenty of time to heal after this lobotomy... next thing you know it'll be spring, we'll have a good draft, pick up a nice free agent or three, every player on the roster will be looking like a megastar in camp...

You'll be back, bruv.

I don't think 11-5 is 11-5 when you so much as peel back one layer of that onion. And while purinst will argue that is 11-5 is 11-5 no matter how you slice it, so too is:

1) Giving up 28 point in less than 30 minutes.
2) Giving up 21 of those 28 points in drives that totaled ~5 minutes of game time.
3) This trend of epic fail is an epic trend.
4) The organization thinks many fans are dumb enough to fall for the "but we were 11-5" (with a very easy first half schedule), and lose focus on what happened/happens against Indy and good teams.
5) And before we heard it, I think many of us knew Sutton wouldn't suffer a public execution for leading that band of idiot cowards who, as a unit, are amongst the highest paid defensive units in the game.
6) We knew the team would react by leaving town instead of facing the fans (so typical!!).

So yes, our record was 11-5, but I think everybody knows that this franchise won't do that again next year. And when they don't, THEN we'll hear about how tough the schedule was (when they'll never admit that this year's was easy), we'll hear about injuries, concussions, even starving kids in Hollywood, and everything but what matters.

It's not ONE thing, it's 44 years of no SB, 20 years of no playoff victory, and 8 straight one-and-dones in those 20 years that bothers people.

And they know "the franchise"... This franchise is owned by a non-resident clown who, if he cares about winning, comes from a family that has proven in the past that it didn't matter above profit. So Clark may care, only he knows that, but he's just the titular head of a family that very well might not. So watching him sit on his hands after that ending "playing the part of the cool level-headed guy" should lead nobody to believe that "year-2" is going to make ANY difference. And most of us the the line-up of excuses being documented already:

1) We had a much tougher schedule in 2014.
2) We had to swap-out most of the D because THE bundle of sticksS FROM 2013 WERE ALL GAY!
3) We were focused on the starving kids in Hollywood.
4) January of 2013 was cold!
5) And best of all, "we just didn't get it done." The ultimate get out of jail free card.

So if 11-5 is supposed to mean something, it only means something to somebody who doesn't know the franchises history (that sets the tone for the organization), and they didn't bother to look at the franchise and realize that there's a LOT to fix, and the chefs in THAT kitchen get to try to do it with FAs in the league who are all to willing to opt-out of KC (because of the franchise's history)...

Just my $.02 on why I think THAT straw just happens to be the one that broke the camel's back.

Good points all, but I hope Reid & Co REALLY understand point #4 at the top. They have turned the corner but they can U Turn quickly if upgrades aren't made. The Chiefs have been in this spot before and failed to do what's necessary more times than not. Lets hope they do the right thing this time around.

I am still in shock at the complete 180 this team did. At the beginning of the season we had this awesome D and a very bad O. Then later part our O was dang good for the most part but the D shit the bed. It is something only this franchise can accomplish.

I understand your frustration, I really do.
I spent all of Sunday questioning why I’m a fan of this team. Is it simply location?
They certainly haven’t rewarded my loyalty with success.

If it helps any, I still don’t have an answer for that.

According to the talking heads it’s the second largest playoff collapse in NFL history.

It is, only the '92 Oilers were worse. I had the "pleasure" of viewing both games in the same room...AWESOME!

Ironic that the Chiefs beat those same Oilers one year later for their last playoff victory...I was at that game in the Astrodome and WHAT A GAME it was, but in no way did I think that it would be the Chiefs last playoff victory for 20 years and counting...

it's been a steady decline for me...2008...2011/2012... and now this.

sure, I'll still watch. But I will never, ever pay the money that I used to pay for NFL product.

And I will never, ever allow myself to care the way I used to care. It's over, the dream is over. **** THE NFL. I will never be emotionally invested in a football team or game ever again.

it's just a good TV show, that's all. It's not 'special', it's just entertainment.
