Jay Cutler on the trading block
Sources: Jay Cutler trade talks expected to heat up next week
Jeff Darlington ESPN As the beginning of the NFL's new league year inches closer, with teams able to officially make trades on March 9, the Chicago Bears have actively started seeking a trade partner for quarterback Jay Cutler, multiple league sources said. Teams around the league are now aware of Cutler's availability while the Bears attempt to garner draft compensation for their eight-year starter, and conversations are expected to heat up during next week's NFL scouting combine. It is not a surprise that Cutler's future in Chicago is in question -- but the start of official trade talks is a major step in that process. While Cutler's contract does not include a no-trade clause, there remains a widespread belief that a deal will require both Cutler and the Bears to agree on the suitor. Cutler, 33, has little incentive to play for a noncompetitive team given the lack of any guaranteed money in his current contract, sources with NFL teams privy to the details said. As a result, it remains possible that the Bears' decision to pursue a trade could leave them in a sticky situation with their quarterback. Will this effort ultimately lead them to simply release Cutler if they are unable to find a suitable partner willing to give up draft picks? http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/1...ing-jay-cutler |

The Bears bought high and are selling low. Conventional wisdom says that's the wrong approach.

Cutler 2 Marshall could happen on a third team. That would be something.
And a Forte reunion. A Chicago Bear reunion featuring a triplet of broke dicks.

Maybe he can feign interest again and bait Elway into taking another POS QB like he did with Lynch.

Hey, you are not far from the truth. Broncos brass were disappointed that Lynch still only knew about 20 plays by the end of this last season. He is far from starting and it is not what they expected by this upcoming year 2.

The first 24 hours would be too much to handle around here though... it would be an end of the world type of scenario.

We'll see what happens with McCoy running the offense. They need to fix the OL, ground game and find a TE before I get too concerned about the QB battle. And, regarding the QB battle - in addition to McCoy, the Br oncos have Bill Musgrave. Those 2 guys, specifically Musgrave are all about developing QBs... that's another reason I'm confident the team won't do something dumb like signing Romo. They are going to do all they can to find out if either of these QBs can be a long-term answer. I think Trevor has a 12-14 year career as a backup quite honestly, and a really good one. There were a lot of positives this year with him and could start for teams, I just don't know that he's "the guy". We'll see if they can make it work with Lynch.

I can't believe he's been in Chicago for 8 seasons. Time flies.
