2015 Pro Football Hall of Fame Finalists
I don't think we've discussed this yet, so here you go. Up to five of these guys (plus the one senior candidate) can go in. You make the vote when the poll goes up and I release white smoke from the chimney.
The semifinalist list is here if you want to see who got snubbed, which is mostly Albert Lewis, Everson Walls, Clay Matthews, Joe Jacoby, Torry Holt, Isaac Bruce, and Randall Cunningham: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showt...php?p=10938513 Edit: Two other finalists weren't in the poll because the profootballhof listed them separately. Bill Polian and Ron Wolf are also finalists if you want to vote for them as write-ins. Last edited by Rain Man; 01-15-2015 at 01:46 PM.. |

Part of that might have to do with the players surrounding Pace. The Rams team regressed badly after about 2003. Faulk never ran for 1,000 yards again after 2001. |

There's no ****ing way Bettis deserved it over TD. I don't give a **** if he played for eight decades.
That's absolute garbage. Congrats on Shields. Well deserved. He was the best at his spot for a long time. |

There are some great videos from his funeral. HOFer John Madden and many others disagree with the SB win requirement. |

Man. The NFL was SO GOOD when these guys played. It was SO GOOD.
I wonder if it will ever be that way again.

From the great Rams and Chargers teams of the 80's to the Cowboys and Rams (under Vermeil) teams of the 90's to the Chiefs and Chargers (and so many more) of the 2000's, Coryell's offense was visionary, important and made HUGE impact on the NFL. Suffice to say, whether it was Eric Dickerson or Terry Metcalf or Emmett Smith or Priest Holmes or LaDanian Tomlinson or James Brooks, the Coryell offense spurred some of, if not the, greatest backs in NFL history. And Fouts, Aikman, Hart, Warner, Rivers and so many more had their best seasons in the Coryell offense. It's my favorite offense of all time, hands down, no questions asked. |

I've long said that if I were ever the GM of a team, I would search out coaches that could implement the Coryell offense and the Jim Johnson defense. Attack. Be the aggressors. Impose your will on your opponents. |

Wow, this is a weird bunch of winners. It's basically Will Shields and a bunch of surprises.
Shields - deserved it. Way overdue. Screw you, Jonathan Ogden and Walter Jones. Seau - should go in, I guess, but I don't think he's a first-ballot guy. He's the second-best choice this year. I still don't think he's better than Clay Matthews, Sr. Charles Haley - I'm not opposed to him going in, but can't figure out why he's going in over Kevin Greene. Greene outproduced him by 50 percent. Ron Wolf and Bill Polian - Nothing against these guys, but Don Coryell should go in before them, and maybe also Jimmy Johnson. Tim Brown and Jerome Bettis - two guys who got in because they were average to above average for a long time. Not the types of players who should be in the HoF at all. They took the spots of Warner and Pace. Weird, weird year, but I'm glad that Will Shields finally got his due, and congrats to former Chiefs scout Bill Polian.

The Chiefs' drafts while Polian was a scout with us:
1982 - Total disaster. We got a couple of short-term linebacker starters. I liked Louis Haynes but he didn't last long. 1981 - Joe Delaney was a good pick who died, and he got Lloyd Burruss in the middle rounds and Deron Cherry as a free agent. A couple of other short-term or spot starters. 1980 - Carlos Carson in the middle rounds, and Brad Budde was a weak starter for a few years. 1979 - Mike Bell between prison stints, and Ken Kremer, who started at NT for a few years. Frank Manumaleuga made a great play once against the Steelers. Not good, but at least they drafted a QB in the first round. 1978 - Art Still is one of my favorite players ever, and Gary Spani started for several years. Overall, we didn't rock the NFL's world during those years. Here are the full drafts:
Spoiler!

What do you think about this person's list of the 100 guys who should be in the Hall of Fame? It needs to updated after today, but I think it's interesting. This person really likes the Chiefs.
