Spinoff from the BBQ debate,

What are some of the best restaurants (non-chains) in KC for the various food genres?

I just ate at Garozzo's (the original one in north KC) and it was friggen amazing. Chicken Spiedini. Oh damn. So good. I'll be back! Entrees were a bit pricey (sorry Guru) around 20 bucks each, steak topped out at 31 but my $21 spiedini was enough for two people.

Bluestem and Port Fonda are very good. Never been to the other two.

N. Redondo - near Artesia and Inglewood. This thread inspired me to stop and get some on my way home from work. Perfect hangover food.

It's right next door to a very nice Mediterranean cafe. They have a cheap buffet there and you can eat your weight in Shawarma and hummus.

that's my bothers favorite Korean place. it wasn't nearly spicy enough for my taste. everything was prepared well though and the restaurant is very clean. I'd give Chosun a solid not bad.
