In the market for a new TV

Have a 7-8 year old Panasonic 50" plasma. Looking to go bigger (probably 55"), higher refresh is better (use it primarily for games and sports). How's this deal look (with BB's 10% movers coupon)?

Honestly, there's almost no point these days. Between Chromecast, Amazon Fire Stick, and the Roku stick, I know of no reason I'd pay extra for a TV with apps from a manufacturer who isn't going to update their software anywhere near as frequently as those.

I have nothing to add. Only that this is so on point, I feel it needs to be said twice.

That is a boss TV..... supposedly better than the Pioneer Kuro. How big did you go, and (if you don't mind sharing) how much was it?

I bought a 60 inch Visio M-Series (or whatever their top model is) and it looks great. It was half the price of the comparable Samsung and I couldn't tell a difference in Best Buy when they were side by side. I have no complaints about the picture. It looks great and I absolutely love the price.

Man that makes me sick. I have a 50" Samsung as well, but I got it 4 or 5 years ago and was a little bit more than $450.

Are you looking to go LED or sticking to plasma?

at the time I was looking at smaller LCD (I t hink), and my wife noticed the 50" Plasma on sale. I figure it would be too much, then I saw the price and the decision was made.

my father-in-law bought a 50" Plasma back in probably 2007 for like $3800 lol.

So I ended up with a 51" Samsung F8500.... supposedly one of the best TVs made to date. It's fantastic, but I wish I would have tracked down a 60".
