Hypothetical: Trading up for Geno.

I'm bored.....and I'll probably catch shit for this....but whatever.

Here is the scenario:

You are the Chiefs GM. You are taking ANY OTHER position but QB with the #1 overall pick because you know, without a shadow of a doubt, that you can trade back up into the 1st round....say 15-20 range for Geno Smith. Not only can you trade up to get him....but it's really only going to cost you your high 2nd round pick and a swap of picks in the 4th.

So....who do you take with the #1 pick?

Silly scenario, but I ended up choosing Milliner, even though he's probably not worth taking #1 overall. Lotulelei would probably be the better pick, but I'm goddamned sick of taking defensive line early in the draft. Plus, our lackluster CB play has been a big problem since Carr left.

In the interest of playing this game by its intended rules, I'd take Damontre Moore

So you're the other one. Nice to know.

I realize we have Houston and Hali, but I just don't have a problem with having multiple pass rushers. If the Giants can essentially run 4 defensive ends on their front, why couldn't the Chiefs figure out how to have three pass rushers out of 4 linebacking spots in obvious passing downs?

While I have advocated this in the past, the reasons the Giants have been so successful at it is that in pass rushing situations, both JPP and Tuck can play inside at either the 3 or 2 tech. JPP is best suited out on the edge but being able to have him, Kiwanuka, Osi, and Tuck all rush the passer is nasty.

I'd trade back a bit in the first round and pick up another pick in the second and a first next year.

Dee Milliner but Sheldon Richardson would be very entertaining. I think he's easily going in the top 10.

Milliner hits the need, that or Moore since Milliner probably isn't BPA here, even with need factored in.
