Chiefs Offseason Planet Evaluation: Jehu Chesson

Does anyone else think of the artist Cezanne when you hear the name Chesson?

Aside from that, how did he do this year?

Jehu played in 12 games this year, getting 1 start. He had 2 receptions for 18 yards, and returned 3 kickoffs for 65 yards (21.7 yards per return).

Too little info, went optimistic anyway and chose C

But the way Reid is with WRs, everyone might as well get used to his name... because some big free agent or rookie is not in the cards this year, we're rolling with the crew we have

Bet me

He seems nice. I have no knowledge of his 3:45 a.m. Cleveland exploits, however .

In summary, we weren't thrilled with what we saw in 2017, but believe that he's an appreciating asset.

2.00 Grade (4.0 point scale)
-0.41 Performance Relative to Expectations (+ = Positive Surprise, - = Negative Surprise)
1.50 Desired Future Role (+ is larger role, - is smaller role)
0.76 Ascending/Descending (+ is ascending, - is descending)
4.68 Trade Value (Round, also, zero = 2 1st rounders, negative = wouldn't trade)

Chesson showed some ability in 2015 but took a step back in 2016 at Michigan.

He was a very capable special teamer in 2017 but needs to work on his routes in order to have any impact in 2018.

At this point in time, I think Kemp has a higher ceiling but that could certainly change this offseason and training camp.

Regardless, either Chesson or Kemp needs to step up their game, big time, in 2018.

I don't recall him seeing the field and haven't heard his name since we drafted him.... don't expect to ever hear it again either unfortunately.

Just nab us a legit FA WR and OG AND cap off this offense for the next 5yrs,

He sucks. His catch percentage was an awful 53%.

Chesson was a rookie.

Robinson was not.
