Papa John's chairman, founder, & Trump supporter resigns after using n-word on call

Earlier today, he resigned from the Louisville board after an attempt to repair his public image went somewhat...badly: http://www.espn.com/college-sports/s...board-trustees

Quote:
Forbes first reported Wednesday that Schnatter participated in a conference call in May with Papa John's executives and marketing agency Laundry Service. It was meant to prepare him for an interview to try to repair his public image. Schnatter had left his position as CEO of Papa John's, which was an official sponsor of the NFL, in December after saying that NFL players should stand for the national anthem, and that the controversy around the issue had hurt the company's sales. Two months later, Papa John's prematurely ended its deal with the league, and the NFL quickly sold the deal to Pizza Hut, a Papa John's competitor.

During the conference call, Schnatter was asked how he would distance himself from racist groups online. In his response, Forbes reported that he questioned why he was facing the wrath of society for taking a stance that all NFL players should stand for the anthem, and he downplayed the significance of those comments. It was then that he claimed Colonel Sanders, who founded Kentucky Fried Chicken, used the N-word in the past and did not face public backlash.

Schnatter said the actual word on the call, ESPN confirmed.
Smart move, John! And now he's done at Papa John's: https://www.forbes.com/sites/civicna.../#3299f5521b92

John Schnatter, the founder of pizza chain Papa John's, resigned as its chairman on Wednesday night. Earlier in the day, Forbes reported that Schnatter made offensive remarks, including use of the N-word, during a conference call in May.
Better ingredients, better pizza, and better without your racist ass being involved with the company! So long!

This is a thing. A KU prof lost her job (obviously not tenured yet) for using it in context in a race discussion in class.

Context is important. Remember when Libs said nuance is important? That depoorables don't process actual grey areas of things?

In this case he was complaining racism is too easily charged, when back in the day they called people naggers. He didn't say "I don't hire any damn naggers". Context, liberals

Common sense tells us that using the word in any way in a professional setting is a pretty stupid idea, whether it's a 'rule' or not.

If you RTFA, you'll see that the disgraced pizza man was poorly informed.

Colonel Sanders didn't use the word Papa John used, he used another word that starts with N which was more polite and socially acceptable, and which was common parlance at the time. Further, his biographer is quoted as saying Sanders harbored no racial prejudice toward anyone.

It would appear that why you are not surprised would be your own personal biases and prejudices toward Colonel Sanders or those you feel he represents.

No, it doesn't.

What common sense does tell us is that this should never have been a problem, and it certainly should never have led to a man resigning his position.

You know, just boring things that every other first world country provides for their citizens that the USA rejects, because of conservatives like you!

(LOL at having "supreme court" on your list - when you're grasping so hard that you just start naming random institutions, it demonstrates pretty well that you're scrambling badly )

What to the bolded part? SCOTUS is going to be lockstep conservative for 30 years dipshit, I know that one has to sting worse than Trump completely erasing Obama's legacy.

WTF is a social safety net?

Abortion rights? Those already exist and frankly if you think abortion rights is a winning platform you are dumber than I thought.

Gun Control

You got jack and shit.

Bringing up "Supreme Court" as if both sides don't bring arguments to the table on that is utterly idiotic.

Same with "job creation", do you know what the stimulus plan was?

Anyway I didn't know we were criticizing each others' lists - a lot on your list was stupid but I let it fly because your argument wasn't "our platform is good", you were just trying to say "liberals don't have a platform", which I just disproved for you even if you don't particularly like or agree with the liberal platform.

But if we ARE criticizing lists - dude, you think "the wall" (LOL), one whose every mention brings up jokes about Trump impotently yelling that Mexico will pay for it, is a convincing policy?

You think "NK denuclearization" is part of a platform? What? You're just naming random things Trump is trying to do (and failing at), he didn't run on "I'm going to denuclearize North Korea" retard.

"NATO paying their share" - you think people showed up to vote because Trump was like "Belgium should be paying 2% of their GDP instead of 1%"?

"Trade equality" - what kind of a retard (besides you and Trump) thinks that trade is a zero-sum game where deficits with individual countries are automatically bad and surpluses with individual countries are automatically good?
