Unreal Estate Game: Arizona
Assume that you idly buy a state lottery ticket while getting a doughnut at 7/11, and voila! You're a winner! You win your choice of one the five houses that will be shown.
I'll give you five houses in a state, and you vote on the house you would take. Background rules: Assume that your job situation won't need to change - you can find an identical job or work from home or whatever, so jobs don't matter. Consider the house itself and the location and anything else that's important to you (schools, restaurants, lot size, etc.). Feel free to do a google map search to check out the neighborhood and the area. You cannot sell the home. You can live in it as long as you like, but when you move out, it reverts back to the state as a prize for a future winner. All houses will generally be in the $900,000 to $1 million price range. All maintenance and utilities and taxes are cost-neutral compared to your current home. If you wouldn't move into any of these homes, you can instead accept a cash prize of $50,000 (tax free). Today's state is Arizona. Here are your five houses: Flagstaff - http://www.realtor.com/realestateand...7-91671#photo0 Parker - http://www.realtor.com/realestateand...3-84721#photo0 Rio Rico - http://www.realtor.com/realestateand...5-36756#photo0 Sedona - http://www.realtor.com/realestateand...5-22605#photo0 Tucson - http://www.realtor.com/realestateand...5-62624#photo0 |

Flagstaff
On a side note the place in Rio Rico looks like a snake pit/scorpion magnet. It also looks like big trouble would be in store during a heavy rain event.

You could be dead inside that Rio Rico home for months and no one would notice.
I took Flagstaff, based on location, over Tuscon. |

A million bucks does not seem to buy much in Arizona. I would pass on all of them.

Tuscon looks nice but too close to neighbors. Sedona has some amazing scenery but too far out in the middle of nowhere. My vote would be the one outside Flagstaff by the lake.

I was just in Flagstaff this weekend. It's nice up there and if I was retired I'd live there. But for now, **** snow.
Sedona is legit beautiful with tons of hiking to do. Great location to other areas of Arizona too, including Phoenix. That's my choice. |

The architecture in Rio Rico and Parker are downright ****ing weird. One reminds ,e of some Area 51 type shit.
Flagstaff is a nice joint but I'm not liking the lodge feel in Arizona. Feels out of place. Sedona has breathtaking views but, as Rain Man mentioned, that'd get old after a while. Tucson for me, please. |
