My mom was disappointed I never gave her grandkids, but I think she figured once I got to 27 or 28 there was going to be none of that. Kids are a nuisance and really aren't worth the effort.

I'm pretty sure Jim and his girl don't want to go to dinner with you because you're being a raging psycho about the whole situation.

I'd give you the being pissed about going to see your daughter and having the ex pull the "it's family night so she's coming with us that night even though you are coming all the way out here for a short amount of time" bullshit. (But then, you did the same thing to her by offering to have her third wheel it with you and your girlfriend instead of just letting her spend time with her daughter instead of forcing her to spend it with you, your girlfriend and her daughter...awkward anyone?)

Absolutely not - we were in MI, so my daughter could see her cousins and my ex's family WHILE ON MY VISITATION TIME...and she wound up 'third wheeling' it with us mostly because she doesn't really like her own family and would rather spend time with us.

I was cool with it because her and my girlfriend hit it off, and my ex got to see how well my daughter interacts with my girlfriend. It's was all cool.

I just think it's ****ed up for 2 reasons :

1. My ex plays this whole 'we're on the same team' and is all cool and nice when she needs more money (or when it benefits her, like when we were all in MI and she wanted to hang with us over her own family.)

Now, all the sudden, she wigs out on the eve of my visit, and changes the complexion of everything. What was going to be a nice peaceful visit has become this big ominous thing. All because her old man isn't comfortable with me.

And

2. It's supposed to be about our daughter. She wants us all to go together. Again, why everybody can't put the petty shit aside for a few hours on one night for her sake...idk, I'd do anything for my daughter. I don't want to hang out with my condescending ex and her know-it all prick boyfriend.

But I would for my kid.

And I'm not making a big deal about it to anyone really...I'm venting semi-anonymously on the internet.

Edit : #3 - I would never do this to them. My ex is like sick codependent on my daughter...and my daughter to her. So, my ex convinces herself (and my daughter) that my child can't come visit me without her (my ex's) presence.

For absolutely no reason other than...my ex is batshit crazy.

So, when they come to MO...they sleep in my bed and I sleep on the couch or the Futon.

I go out of my way to accommodate my ex, and she shits on me every chance she gets.

I'm too nice. I'm a putz.

Because she has no money of her own.

She admitted in court that she couldn't split visitation costs because she had 'so little money' that she spent child support on her attorney!!

The judge said during the visitation hearing that 'at this point we're accommodating mom and not the child.'

Michigan is SCANDALOUS against men. I got ****ed hard in the divorce (my fault for being oblivious - I was very drunk for that period), and I got ****ed hard on custody/visitation.

Like I said...I'm gonna get things set right. I have to get through this over the weekend of Nov 09, and again one more visit in May '15 per our agreement...then the visitation gets renegotiated. I'll be in a much, much more favorable position then I was last spring. The court will know she's full of shit at that point, and that she was full of shit all along.

Edit : on a related note, can anyone get me a plug on cheap tix for Bills/Chiefs on Nov 09?? I'll be 90 min away, and 19 hours free every day I'm up there...
