Will the Chiefs extend Hill after this season?

Do the Chiefs try low balling the guy? I don't think they can at this point. Veach isn't Carl, but what do you think he's worth at this point?

He's going to be a FA after 2019 season, but I can't imagine the Chiefs letting him walk or letting him enter next season without a new deal, especially if he improves from last season's 75/1200/7 stat line. And we all know his value in ST.

Given that Mahomes' success largely depends on the success of Hill, do you think the Chiefs renew his deal after this year? He's kept his nose clean off the field and he's clearly outplaying his current $600k salary. Right now the top 10 WR contracts in the NFL avg at about $15M/yr, and Sammy Watkins is one of those players. Can't imagine the Chiefs paying them both truck loads of money. Watkins alone has a $19M cap hit next yr.

All those guys are going into their last year of their contracts next season. Morse is currently in his last year as well.
This is where it's gonna all come down to Veach and replacing guys via the draft. You aren't keeping all these guys, some aren't really worth keeping on a long deal at this point anyway.

Ragland and Robinson haven't done enough to get much of a deal yet. So maybe they come cheaper, who knows.

Fuller looks to be on his way, Jones while good, tends to run hot and cold.

Out of that list I would give a second contract to Hill and Fuller (Fuller out of a premium position of need. If we had any depth there whatsoever, I'd say no, but since we have literally crap at CB. Chiefs need him more than he needs the Chiefs.)

Yeah, I'd say the same. I'm that way with Jones as well.

I think Hill's game can translate like ABs has into the 30s. If we assume Hill's route running improves (it has every year hes been in the league) and his ability to beat the press (also clearly has improved). This guy is setting up nicely to be the next WR to string together ______ 1000 yard seasons in a row. I view Hill and Kelce as the only two untouchables on offense you keep with Mahomes. That Watkins deal needs to just go away, yesterday.
Almost looks like a poor man's Antonio Brown? I'll take Tyreek over AB any day of the week. Brown has done all his stuff with Big Ben throwing him the ball. Hill had Smith. I'm so excited to see what Hill will do with someone who isn't afraid to air it out. It's gonna be a fun season. I hate the Watkins deal, id rather have saved some of that money and gave it to Breeland. Hell I wouldn't have cared if they over paid for him. We're set at WR, our secondary sucks balls

AB also runs routes far better than Tyreek. Both are pretty much equal when it comes to ball tracking skills. Most GM's are going to pick Antonio, FWIW. But you can't go wrong with either. The only thing that you can really say that Smith wasn't great at last season was hitting the out route or connecting in the Red zone he wasn't holding back Tyreek it was the lack of depth at receiver that allowed teams to bracket Kelce and Tyreek frequently

I completely disagree with the first statement. Tyreek runs great routes. Also Smith wasnt very good at the deep ball. He doesn't have near the arm strength Mahomes has.

AB is better than Tyreek.

But he’s 30, and Tyreek is what, 23, 24? You’d get a lot of GM’s to take Tyreek just on that.

AB is the best route runner in the entire league. Tyreek is an ascending player that is improving in every facet. To crown him as this elite route runner is laughable. And I love Tyreek's game.

Veach has his work cut out for him in regards to re-signing these good young players. Tyreek is a must. He is a special player and if he can continue his progression in route running, will be a top 5 WR. It will be curious to see the numbers for this deal whenever it happens.

Hill is at the deepest position but if he connects with Mahomes, and with his skill, it will be hard to part with him. The Chiefs gave Hill a second chance. Ideally I'd like to think he at the very least negotiates in good faith.

Jones and Fuller are in positions of need. Even if the young kids at CB step up it will be hard to walk away from Fuller unless we feel FA will have a lot. I don't see anyway a DE steps up and makes us feel good about letting Jones go.

In the end we have a lot of potential enjoyment for this year so I'm not going to worry about this too much. Not bad to talk about it waiting for the season though.
