Texans reportedly not excited last night after getting Watson

This might be in a thread somewhere but I just wanted to make sure everyone saw this, very interesting....

So we have all heard today that NO, ARZ, SEA, and presumably Houston wanted Pat. Read this excerpt from someone within the Texans war room.

Quote:
Unlike the handshakes, hugs and backslapping that went on in other war rooms, many in Houston looked as though they had just awoken on Christmas morning and found no presents under the tree after it was announced the team had traded and selected quarterback Deshaun Watson.

Watching the stone-faced expression on the face of head coach Bill O'Brien and the subdued attitude of those sitting at their desks made me and others I was with feel something was not right.
It sounds to me like Mahomes was that 'present' that was not there for O'Brien and the Texans.

Yea they might've been interested, but they clearly didn't love Lynch like they love Mahomes.

Ecstatic? No. Happy? Yeah.

Watson would have been the continuation of Alex Smith. Don't get me wrong as I think he'll be a good QB but never great.

Mahomes can be great...we will see how he turns out but at least the Chiefs went with the Boom pick.

I agree. We've had enough ordinary QBs like Watson will be. We could use the big arm playmaker type for a change. That's the reason we took Mahomes and it's the same other teams have been reported wanting him as well over Watson. Higher ceiling of talent. I haven't seen one report of a team being on the Watson bandwagon over Mahomes. Not one report of team trying to trade up for Watson or disappointed he isn't theirs. Only dumbasses like Steven A. think we goofed based purely on Watsons college career win loss record.

Only an idiot would judge a QB's talent just on that. That would mean that Rivers sucks, Brees is no longer any good and Luck is dog shit. It would also mean Smith is a hall of famer.

Totally flawed way of thinking.

A brief history of Andy Reid’s love of Hawaiian shirts

By: Charles Curtis | March 28, 2017 7:41 am

NFL head coaches are mostly buttoned-up, super-serious guys who are more comfortable staring daggers than cracking jokes.

And then there’s Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, who appears to have a passion for Hawaiian shirts.

Seriously. Every year, when the NFL snaps a photo of the head coaches in attendance at the NFL annual meetings, there’s Reid with his flowery threads.
