If Jesse had not killed Gus, Walt would have been dead. What Jesse can't see is that he himself would have followed Walt eventually. Gus would not stand for a user to be the head cook for very long.

Krazy 8, Tuco and the two kid-killing drug dealers had to die to keep Jesse and Walt safe. And if I remember correctly, it was Gus that served up Hank to the cartel. They wanted Walt dead, but Gus needed him, so he pointed them to Hank. And if he had already killed Don Eladio, then he wouldn't have had to serve up anyone.

And if Jane had minded her own business, and kept her mouthy self out of Walt's business, then he probably would have saved her. She made herself a headache, and Walt eased his pain. And if Walt had arrived at Jesse's 10 minutes later, she would have been dead anyway.

I guess I still identify with the father in Walt. If I had any skill, legal or illegal that could provide my family with $5,000,000.00, I would do it in a heartbeat, and willingly die knowing that I made my wife's life easier, my kids' lives easier, and their kids' lives easier. After he buried the money, and collapsed in the bathroom, he told Skylar that if she kept the money, he would turn himself in. It was Skylar that said he had to stay quiet so she could keep the money. That shows that he only cares about his own well being as long as it is what is protecting his family.
Given the way that the story has progressed, it seems unlikely to me that that money will ever be used.

edit: For those it was intended for.

What were Walt's exact words to Skyler in the hotel room when they were talking about Jesse? Didn't he say something like Jesse has never hurt anyone who didn't deserve it or something like that? How did Gale deserve it again? Just asking because with all the talk about Jesse being the moral compass of the show I had forgotten that he out a bullet through Gales head.

Saul said that his clean slate guy doesn't give second chances if you miss the first one. Walt missed his first chance.

I suppose partial credit for Jane, who he didn't save, but he didn't "pull the trigger" either.

I don't count the people on the plane who died due to a crash apparently caused by Jane's grief-stricken father. That's too remote.

See? Walt's not so bad.

He killed someone to protect someone who just saved his life and someone he cares for deeply. He also suffered extreme PTSD from the incident and fell into a self-destructive spiral of loathing and drug use as a way to cope with said decision.

That's quite a bit different than talking about how something tears you up, then whistling 30 seconds later.

Aaron Paul has done a tremendous job on the show, extremely underrated throughout the series.

Yeah, I wasn't really suggesting it.

Somewhere awhile back, maybe it was on here, I can't remember, I saw a video of Breaking Bad all re-edited to seem like a sitcom, including corny laugh track. It was pretty funny, IIRC.

And his character was supposed to die in season one.

The other day a movie was on tv while I was flipping channels. It was called something like Bad Girls from Valley High, or maybe Mean Girls from Valley High (I am too lazy to look on IMDB) and Aaron Paul was in it, so I watched a few minutes. There is no way in hell that you could watch that movie and think that years later Aaron Paul was going to wins Emmys. No way in hell. He, and the movie were so bad. Julie Benz was in it as well, and she was equally as bad.
