AJ McCarron vs LSU

For those who want to see a possible prospect compete against a fantastic defense, watch this game.

Not to piss on your parade, but he DID win the National Championship last year... And was named Offensive MVP of that game.

I'm not a McCarron pimp... just saying..

He never stepped up in college in those big games and big moments. Does that sound familiar? So many NFL games come down to the end. We better get a QB who can close the deal or we are spinning our wheels.

Furthermore, how do you know you aren't going to spend a first round pick on a game manager? You say you look for pocket awareness and accuracy but, don't the majority of first round quarterbacks have those qualities? There is only a 30% chance a first round QB will be successful. We need someone with more than those two characteristics because it's about alot more than that.

I was never trying to say that we should take McCarron in the first. I'm just saying what he did is what I am looking for the most in quarterbacks. Guys like Russell Wilson, Joe Montana, and Tom Brady did the same thing in college. It is what matters the most. It's about making the play when it has to be made. It's about taking the team on your shoulders.

If your QB can't do this, you aren't going far in the NFL. If we take a first round QB, he better be able to do this imo.
Russell Wilson rarely ever was the one to make "the play" in college. He's the QB who had "the play" made against him. All the time. I didn't give a shit about that, but it was concerning that I had never seen him be the edgy slippery guy who made the game-winning drive in the last seconds.

Oh, and McCarron was playing against a prevent zone, you dumbass.

Did you watch Wilson in the Big 10 Championship game when you evalutated him last year? I figured that one would have been pretty important to most people when going through the scouting process...

Also, are you sure LSU played a prevent defense at the end of that game the other night? Sorry man but, you and Milkman are straight up wrong. Watch the tape below and you'll see that LSU called the prevent once.

On the first play, LSU blitzed the nickelback

On the second play, LSU blitzed the nickel and dime backs

On the third play, LSU blitzed a LB and the dime back

On the 4th play, LSU called the prevent. However, McCarron threw it deep and the pass was on the money. The WR tripped or it would have been a TD. DESPITE THE PREVENT.

On the 5th play, the nickelback, dimeback, and a LB blitzed.

The bottom line is that they brought the ****ing house in the loudest stadium in the country (college or pro) and McCarron picked them apart.

I know you love Geno but, quit making shit up. He hasn't done this shit.
