ESPN Audibles talking Chiefs

Right now. Everyone, even Herm is saying that the Chiefs are going to challenge the Broncos for the AFC West this upcoming season. Herm thought we drafted well. At least we're getting some love from ESPN. Haters, it's time to hate.

I'm not going to belabor things. It's a waste of time. que sera, sera

Just wanted, one time, to post my stance for posterity.

Because there are getting to be too many of a vocal minority who are stating things about the future that have pushed way past pessimist into DICKHEAD TROLL, and I don't whatever day of reckoning comes in the future to have anyone saying [oh, you say that NOW. . . ]

No, I'm saying it NOW.

I have a Dante Hall X-factor red T-shirt, I think it looks cool.
Only wear it 2-3 times a year though.

No, all my sportswear is team specific but otherwise general. The only game authentic jersey I have is Manchester United. The bulk is T-shirts [KU, Chiefs]. I do have a few nice KU, Royals, Chiefs and ManU pieces, mostly in the form of wooly pullovers for bad weather. And of course there's the hats.

Or at least Palmer, Flynn, or Kolb. You could have gotten any for a much lower price than Smith. So you have Fisher at #1, Geno in the 2nd and let him sit for a year behind one of those 3 guys. Profit.

That's different from the 2010 Cassel game manager, where it's 'hey, our competition Suh-hu-huh-UCKS all season long, so hand the ball off as often as possible and throw away any passing down that mystifies you in the least, we'll get them later.' And it's WAY THE **** different from Cassel game manager against real compeition, where his uniform was fitted with a PEX line from anus to ankle for the most efficient way to shit down one's leg.

I'd love for someone to compile a video of the most boneheaded mistakes AS has committed on field. Not things he failed to produce, but things he did to the detriment of the team. We've seen Cassel's, some boggle the mind, some are eligible for AFI designation of greatest comedies in history.

Be smart
Be mobile
Be accurate
Be an asset

That's what I expect of AS right now

When we finally rise to a playoff level team, I will also expect

Be clutch.

I have full faith as I stand here right now AS will deliver.

I am metaphysically certain we are light years ahead of the Cassel era.
You realize that was a highlight package? Try watching an entire Alex ****ing Smith game.

Believing that Alex Smith will make this team a perennial Super Bowl Contender is very much like believing in God. Sure, you can have some blind faith, but everytime you go hunting for evidence, you come up empty handed.

And much like believing in God, everytime you uncover evidence that he doesn't exist, you'll simply bury your head in the sand and rely on your faith again.

I hear you, Chiefsplanet. I hear you all telling everyone how great Alex Smith is going to be. But i have yet to see a shred of evidence that would suggest he's anything more than a mediocre game manager on his best days.

As did I. We got a lot of them here as they're in St. Louis' division.

At least the highlight reel had HIGHLIGHTS. And not padded, or slo-mo, or repeated from a different angle, highlights. Snap boom, snap boom. Nice run, nice throw, nice scramble.

Like I said, Cassel did maybe three of those plays in his whole career, and has a shit ton more ****ups.

You want to show clips of AS hurting his team, I'll be glad to look. But like I said, I'm talking about active detriment, not some vague sense of lack of production, or leaning on the running game and D. Also, be sure to annotate the time and place of occurrence, and don't try to pass off some shitty play from years ago as if it happened yesterday. Feel free to include any shitty play you wish from any point in his career, so long as time and place is noted.

30 years of ineptitude at the QB position has really affected your expectations.

Once Smith faces adversity, and his abilities are questioned, his confidence will sink, and you'll want him gone.

So that's the new standard now? You don't have to be great, just don't be historically bad? Is that how low Matt Cassel has sunken this fan base?

You're right. A guy drafted in the 2nd round of a bad QB class was much more likely to change water into wine than Alex Smith is to make the Chiefs the kind of contender that Trent Green made us.

I'm sorry your messiah was crucified on day one of the draft.

Look it up, that's been my standard for closing in on 15 years online, and longer than that IRL.

The gunslinger can be fun, an Aaron Rodgers can be REALLY fun, but its not the only way to skin a cat [feel free to make your case for Aikman the gunslinger], especially if the rest of the team is sound.

And the Cassel comparisons are directed at the Cassel 2.0 crowd. It's not my gold, silver, bronze or pot metal standard.
