2014 Gambling Challenge - Week 4

The betting windows are open for Week 4 wagering. We have a game Thursday night, so I'll post the odds for that one now. The rest I will post in a couple of days.

Please do me a favor and post your bets like the example below. Do not post "Chiefs points $1,000" or other variations. It makes it easier for me to locate the correct place in the spreadsheet to enter your bet if you do it like the example.

Thanks.

PLEASE read the rules here.

PLEASE READ, RULE CHANGE!! Beginning this year, I will no longer allow any bets to be changed or cancelled. Please make sure you have posted the correct bet before hitting the submit button! Once posted, it is binding and the only option you will have is to post an offsetting bet if you change your mind (which off course will cost you at a minimum the 10% house vig). NO EXCEPTIONS!!

Also, anyone caught editing a bet after posting it will be immediately disqualified!

Remember that you must place a wager every 3 weeks at minimum. If you go without betting for 3 consecutive weeks, you will be disqualified.

The following people must bet this week or be disqualified for violating this rule.

ArrowheadHawk

Above all else, lets have some fun!

How to read the lines

Sample line

Thu 9/6 New Orleans Saints +6 +223 OVER 52.5
(Date, VISITING TEAM: Point Spread, Money Line, Over/Under)
7:30 PM Indianapolis Colts -6 -243 UNDER 52.5

(Time, HOME TEAM: Point Spread, Money Line, Over/Under)

How to bet the Money Line

Sample line
SAINTS +223
COLTS -243

First off, a money bet is a straight up win/lose bet. No points involved, so of course there are odds payoffs.

If you want to bet on the Saints, you will win $223 for every $100 that you bet. Conversely, for the Colts, you will win $100 for every $243 that you bet.

In other words, the team with the - money line is the favorite (therefore lower payout) and the team with the + is the under dog.

Placing Bets

PLEASE
, format your bets like this:

Colts (-6) $5000
Chiefs (+142 money) $1000
Chiefs/Texans (Under 38) $2000

I'm shocked at how much money is coming in on the Chiefs for this game. Particularly the all ins. I had a shit week and have under 5k left. I thought about doing this as well, but I don't want to jinx them. Good luck bruh.

I decided to say **** it. I'm not 100% confident that they'll win....but I'll at least blow my remaining $7k on the chance that they might.

Dart, I am unsure how much money I have so I'm going to list my bets in order of what I want, I'm going $5000 on each and if I don't have the $5000 to complete the bet I want all in. If this is too much work for you and you want to disallow it, I understand too.

Chiefs (+3) - $5000
Chiefs (+150 Money) - $5000

I'm pretty iffy on this one. Thought about sitting this one out, but if I HAD to bet on this game....after much thought .....and then a final 'Oh, **** it'. It'll either make me well or accelerate my early exit.

Correct. As long as all your bets on one line do not exceed $5,000 you are good.

No, this is fine. As long as you explain your intent, I have no problem with these types of bets.
