Heh he could move up here to Montana for two weeks and by the time he went home I bet that apartment would seem downright balmy.

I have a Heat Dish from Costco. Dog loves to plant herself in front of it. Here's the thing--dogs learn quickly. If he gets too close, it won't hurt too bad--and he'll never do it again. |

Didn't realize you wanted a heater to run all day while you're gone. That's a little different.
Other than putting it somewhere high the dog can't get to, not sure I trust anything sitting on the floor all day. |

No that's not what I want. I want the heater to run while I'm home, and sleeping at night. I want it to be cool to the touch, and safe to run while I'm sleeping.

Get a couple of oil radiators, and that could be enough. They are safe to leave on for a dozen hours with no worry. Anywhere from 60-120 bucks each.

I would just pick up a vornado if that's the case and be done with it. As someone else stated, be aware that electric heaters are money suckers so use accordingly. I guess it's still better than freezing your ass off.
