Let's talk about the Chargers...

Chiefs can wrap up their 3rd straight AFCW title on Thursday w/ a win over the Chargers.

Phyllis typically shits his pants in Arrowhead, but their passing game presents a problem as we saw wk1. Lots of dropped passes on wide open looks. Wk1 looks a lot different if their WR's come down w/ some of those misses.

Chiefs OL gets to go up against Bosa this go around, OL will have their hands full again going up against him and Ingram. OL will need to play a lot better Thurs, than they did today.

Even though it's TNF, Arrowhead will be rockin' for another primetime game and I think Patrick Mahomes shines, and puts the team on his back. Gonna be tough though, Chiefs are banged up, and it's a short week. But it's a short week for them too, and they have to travel.

The real NFL season has just begun fellas. Go Chiefs!

As I said on another thread, my biggest concern is that the injuries are piling up. The second biggest concern is not 'the law of averages' but rather just that in the NFL, beating anybody is tough; beating a team ten times in a row is REALLY tough. Teams learn from their mistakes eventually. It's a human element, not chance. And while the Chargers are not what the talking heads try so desperately to hype them as, they are a pretty good NFL team that can beat you any one of several different ways.

But-both teams on a short week, and they have to travel.
Phyllis usually goes fully crybaby at Arrowhead.

I am concerned about our O-line situation, and how many offensive weapons may not play and/or be limited. And of course, our defensive inability to stop the run.

This is what troubles me with the Chargers. They are being propped up by a series of terrible ref jobs in multiple games. I can forgive one game being handed to them just out of incompetence and mistakes, but it is becoming ridiculous that they have benefited this much. Maybe the ass whooping the Rams received last night will make the NFL reconsider this push for an all LA Super Bowl.

Overtime game, short weak after playing a physical Ravens team.

Thank goodness their coach is mediocre and the game is at home.

I read like the first 6 words of Direckshun's post and thought to myself, I'm officially beyond bothering to even think about "matchups" and what opponents do well or who's out blah blah.

I am not exaggerating - I literally just think "Mahomes."

"Chargers have a good pass rush" = Mahomes

"We aren't slowing Phillip Rivers down" = Mahomes

"We might be without Ware, Erving, Berry, Watkins, etc." = Mahomes

Mahomes.

What happened in the game yesterday that benefited the Chargers?
On 3rd and goal...Bengals QB runs then dives for the TD. Refs rule a TD on the field and NFL corporate in NYC overturns it. Their rationale was once he dove for the score he "gave himself up" and marked it at the 1 inch line...making it 4th and goal. They were trying to paint it as a running QB going down to avoid a hit...when he was trying to score.

Bengal being Bengals FS on the next play and kick a FG.

Chargers looked completely uninspired...

There is an obvious, coordinated agenda to get them to the post-season...I'm curious how far the NFL wants to push it. They looked nothing like the best team in the AFC...

Opposing fans are going to hi-jack that stadium come play-off time....if they get a "home" game.

With the Chargers at 10-3...with 4 straight weeks of controversial officiating all benefiting them...did the NFL accomplish their goal? This TNF game will tell a lot....it will be a pretty brazen move for the refs to dictate the outcome in two consecutive national Chargers games....in 3 weeks. They caught a lot of heat for the Steelers game.
Inventing conspiracy theories is literally the easiest thing in the world to do. It shocks me every time somebody thinks they've invented a plausible one.

Here's a plausible one against that: the NFL knows the Chargers need to succeed and the franchise has sucked at it. Therefore, they're going to do everything to make their first season in LA a success. That makes it more likely LA will want to give them a stadium.

See?

It doesn't matter if the Chargers look uninspired against the Bengals. We looked uninspired against the Cardinals.

They're going to bring absolutely everything to their game on Thursday. So will we.

Statistically speaking, beating the Chargers ten times in a row now is as likely as beating them one time in a home game. The previous 9 games have already happened, so the likelihood is 100% of that.

We don’t have to beat them 10 times in a row, we just have to beat them once.

After yesterday the modeling based on scoring says we win this game 29-28.

Hopefully it isn't so close and we put these pretenders away early...
