No one is calling Ragland a pro bowler. But the dude is clearly a better MIKE than anyone we’ve had since going to the 3-4.

Actually, yeah. Belcher is a good example of a player who produced just as much, if not more than Ragland. At least till he blew his head off.

As of right now, Ragland is still just a JAG like every other JAG.

I know we're all excited about his draft pedigree, but PFF gave him an "average" rating last season.

He didn't do shit to jump off the screen at you, and was a large part in our shit run defense.

You don't get to lay all that shit Run D on DJ's feet while praising the guy standing next to him...

Oh wow Veach succeeded finding a "better" player at that one worst position over the last few years on the Chiefs defense. I guess we should congratulate him until he cant take it no more.

He was one of the best run stuffing ILB’s per PFF last season.

And you are wrong. Ragland was not a major part of the unit that got wrecked. Teams knew that nickel defense with KPL/DJ and Sorenson at ILB meant run the ball.

Not better than DJ.

And let me know when Ragland gets above 80+ combined tackles in a season like Belcher.

Does it really matter? As long as we play Bob Suttons bundle of sticksgy scheme where our CBs line up 5 to 10 yards off the line of scrimmage we're getting ****ed in the ass anyway.

DJ didn’t play MIKE. JFC.

Ragland also didn’t start until week 4.

PFF rates him as average. Just looked.

And if Ragland has to come off the field the majority of the time (because D's are in Nickel+ most of the time) then what does that say about his ability and his importance?

I'd imagine because they didn't think they needed him. And then they failed to add a significant player in the draft or in F/A.

And then realized (when it's too late) that they are thin at the position.
Was he available in March?

He's an ILB, close enough. Like our safeties, they're interchangeable. Or at least should be.

That was the concept.

Now, if Ragland is too limited well...that speaks to the talent level.

But anyway, let me know when Ragland has a better statistical season than Jovan ****ing Belcher before we go claiming he's "best" anything.
