Exactly. But Most aussies just see different american accents as "normal" (like a typical new york or city accent) or "redneck" like texas. To me it's pretty interesting how many different accents there are in the US. In australia accents dont really change from one city to another.

I think Midwesterners have an accent. I can hear it when I talk to people. Growing up in the Pacific NW, I think West coasters are the ones that have no accent. Although, it cracks me up when someone around here says "Where's yer accent fruuuuum?"
