Under 30s definitely have no idea what it is. Maybe under 40s too. Hopefully it finds some legs. There really isn't anything major coming out until The Martian in October.

The trailers made it look very well made, fun and classy
Stronger competition this week, since Straight Out of Compton exceeded studio expectations. Probably released it a week or two too late--the last couple of weekends have been soft.

Overseas numbers are looking pretty good for it...doing very well in Russia and England. Overseas Box Office and some strong DVD/Blu-Ray sales can help make up for a less than stellar American Box Office.

I think straight outta compton might be a one week wonder and word of mouth may help man from uncle domestically. Next 5 or 6 weeks look soft to me, until The Martian in early October, no matter how hard they're trying to sell that Everest/Black Mass weekend.

Late August until mid to late Sept is always soft.

My kids are excited about Scorch Trials though. Maze Runner was a pleasant surprise for me.
